Struck in lift!!

Kartik's pov

Soon light goes off and lift halts suddenly. We look at each other shocked but I can see a tinge of fear in her eyes.

I called the technician to come and repair it fast but he said it will take time.

I can see from the corner of my eyes that Naira is getting restless.

I -Naira.(she looks up at me.)

I-I mean Miss naira, don't worry ...It will be repaired in sometime.

She just nods and does not speak anything.

It is taking a lot of time. I don't know what is she thinking. She is not speaking anything and just staring at nothing. I can't resist so I spoke

Miss Naira,are you fine..any problem?

Naira spoke in meek voice-No sir!

She is so much worried. I can make it out from her facial expressions. I was waiting for her to speak something but she wasn't speaking and now finally my wait is over.

N- Sir how much time will it take ?

K-it will take some more time. I got a message from the technician that some problem is with this lift .so,it will take some more minutes.

Naira's facial expression changed in no time.

N- Wo Sir actually... Wo sir actually I feel suffocated in these closed closed rooms,places ...So I can't stay there for longer time.

Finally It's out...

Miss Naira don't worry ..It will be repaired in sometime.

Naira nods and stands straight.

After some minutes, We are still struck in the lift. I saw Naira...She was breathing heavily.I called out her name.

Naira, what happened???

Wo Sir,suff...suffo. ... suffocation..

I rubbed her back. Her eyes were getting closed. I panicked.

Naira,plz keep your eyes open.

Sir..sir-she said and fell down on the floor of the lift.

I followed her and took her head in my lap and patted her cheeks. She was not waking up.

Naira ..plz utho..akhein kholo .. Naira..

I could feel my eyes moist. It was like a nightmare. I wanted it to be finished but it didn't. I prayed to god to save her,not to let anything happen to her.

Soon lift moved and then opened. I patted naira but she didn't make any movement. I took her in my arms and then came out of the lift.

I laid her down on couch and asked somebody for water. Someone gave me and I sprinkled it on her face. Soon, she opened her eyes. I heaved a sigh of relief. She tried to sit but I held her and made her sit myself.

Naira,Are you fine?

Y..Yes Sir

Thank god!.. I became so afraid..

Naira looked up at me(looking directly in my eyes)

I mean!..if you are still not fine. Then take leave and rest at home.

She quickly said-No sir..I am fine and I can work. No need of leave!

Then somebody called me. I stood up.

Ok.. Miss Naira..if you don't feel good ..then you can take a leave. I gotta go now!!

Take care!- I said in soft tone.

She nodded and smiled.

It was a genuine smile!

I like her smile!

No,I love her smile-I corrected myself and went away smiling but was thinking about her only.

Kartik,stop thinking about her and focus on your work!-my mind scolded!

This girl has something diff. She always compels me to think about her.-my heart said.

Will you focus on your work or will think about her only-my mind cursed me!

I stopped my chain of thoughts before my heart and my mind start to fight.

But I want my heart to win this battle.

With this thought ,I tried to concentrate on my work.

Naira's pov.

When sir went away, a lone tear escaped my eye. Why won't it? After a long time, someone asked me with this much care. I smiled to myself as I felt contented to know that someone cares of me..other than my mumma and papa but they are not with me at this time. Then I composed myself and stood up to do my work.

I can't let myself fall weak!

STILL NAIRA'S POV.

It's a new day, I got ready and paved my way towards the hotel..oops not hotel but goenka villa. Today is a party there because Sir kartik is now our boss,So a party to congratulate him and to wish him a good luck!!

I was wearing my mom's red sarree.. It's a very simple sarree but I love it..So I decided to wear it with earrings given by gayu. She insisted me to wear them so I wore them.

I entered goenka villa ..It is decorated so beautifully. It's so elegant!...I went in and then saw gayu and my colleagues and went towards them.

I saw Sir kartik talking about business with some people. He saw me and smiled. I smiled too!!.

After sometime, he came to me.

K-hello miss naira!

N-hello Sir

K-you fine?

N-yes Sir.

But soon someone interrupted us and he excused himself and went away!!

I started to explore the villa . I felt thirsty so I went to have water. I was drinking water that I heard the name-Mr. Singhania. The voice was coming from a room. I went closer and tried to hear the voice.

Is anyone talking about my papa???
