CHAPTER 11-The Cultural Fest

Part 1

"I would very well give up now if I were you , you fought well while the battle lasted" the student before me expressed their feelings.

This time it was no joke , I really was stuck in an inescapable situation . The violence that worked with Ryuuen and the direct play that worked with Sakayanagi could not be used here .

The person wasn't wrong . For the first time in my life was I cornered , fully .

I close my eyes , and look back one more time to find any opening to squirm my way out of this mess .

It had all started 2 weeks ago , when the special event was announced .

Part 2

Yesterday , I had admitted to Airi that I was dating Kei , today I was going to face its consequences . I was met with stern glances from Haruka as I entered the classroom , she wasn't angry , she probably heard everything from Airi . Airi was present . It wouldn't have been weird for her to absent herself today .

The reason for her presence was a message from our Homeroom teacher , Chabashira Sae .

《 All Students must be present on May 10 and must carry their cell phones 》

The reason for this was obvious , the entire class was drowned in a very familiar atmosphere as Chabashira-sensei walked in with an expression that we all recognized very well .

Without further ado , as soon as she reached the podium , she spoke

" I see that all of you had recieved my instruction and are present , I'm glad . As you all may have already realized it is indeed regarding the next event , about with I'll provide details in few moments on the board , meanwhile
Please open your respective smart phones and go to the School app , once you are in open the events section and the details will be given under the title 'Culture festival ' . "

" Culture festival ......" Ike ,who sat in front me now , muttered .

Horikita no longer sat by my side , instead it was another girl who knew I was hiding my abilities , Chiaki Matsushita . It was troublesome that she was positioned next to me , however she never tried to unnecessarily bring up that topic or keep an eye on me as she probably understood it was better to trust my words for now . Right now , she was also immersed in reading the rules of the event .

'Event' was the term Chabashira-sensai used , not ' special exam ' , It reminded me of the sports festival last year .

" Hopefully all of you have opened the page , I have also produced the same on the black board and will explain the details now . The event 'Culture festival'
is based on the ones you all may have experienced during your middle school days . However , this is a massive event , since it is not restricted to the second years and involves the first and third years as well . The event will be held 2 weeks from now on the 24th ,25th and 26th of this month . " Chabashira-sensei started explaining .

"Listen carefully. This time there will be 3 kinds of battles that you will partake in , 2 of which are active and 1 passive .

Each class will be doing one event to compete against the other classes in the 2nd year and individually be ranked by the special guests from outside , who will partake as the unbiased judges .
The class that ranks first will receive 100 class points , second 50 class points , however the third and fourth ranked class will lose 50 and 100 class points respectively . "

I observed the shocked faces around me , this was only the first part of the event , yet the prizes and damages were massive .

" However , that isn't the end , similar to the MVP in the sports festival a student who shows exceptional performance in his/her class will be chosen as the 'Knight' of their class and will receive 500,000 private points . The 'Knights ' from all the classes are compared and a 'King ' is chosen who will obtain a additional 500,000 points - in total a million points . However there is no penalty for the other Knights even if they are not chosen to be the King .
