Abi's P.O.V.
"Abi!" Someone yelled as they shook me awake.
My eyes shot open and I looked around frantically, letting out a sigh of relief when I realised I was back in the tower. I couldn't stop the tears that began to stream down my cheeks and whoever had woken me pulled me onto their lap, I cried into their chest and I realised who it was when I smelt their cologne.
"It's okay, it was just a bad dream." Clint said as he stroked my hair.
"Why is it always me?" I sobbed.
He rocked me softly as he stroked my hair and whispered soothing things in my ear in an attempt to calm me down. When I finally finished crying, there was a big wet patch on his shirt and I mumbled an apology as I moved my head off of his chest.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
I nodded in response, not trusting my voice, and I looked up at him, a look of worry was plastered on his face and it was a look I recognised all too well; it was the same look everyone else gave me whenever they saw me. I reached over to my night stand and took two of the pills that Tony had given me, swallowing them down with some water.
"What are they for?" Clint asked quickly.
"Tony gave them to me, they're supposed to help me sleep." I said.
"You shouldn't be relying on pills to help you sleep." He said with a frown.
"Do you think that's what I want? No it is not! I want to just be able to get a full nights sleep without having a nightmare!" I yelled.
He looked a little shocked at my outburst and I looked away, feeling guilty.
"I'm sorry, I... I'm just tired and irritable, I shouldn't have yelled at you." I said sadly.
"It's okay." He said, giving me a small smile.
He laid me back down on my bed gently before heading towards the door.
"Clint." I started.
"Yeah?" He said hopefully.
"I... never mind. Goodnight." I said softly.
His head hung and he said a quick goodnight before disappearing back to his room. I had wanted to ask him to stay; it had been so long since I had cuddled up next to him in bed and it was all I wanted in that moment, but I just couldn't get the words out. I kept changing positions for a while but I just couldn't get comfortable so I got out of my bed and made my way next door to Clint's room. I carefully opened the door and saw that he was asleep, I debated going back to my room but that wasn't the direction my feet wanted to take me. Quietly, I made my way over to his bed and when I climbed in next to him, his eyes shot open.
"Hey." I said softly.
"Hey." He said, a smile tugging at the edge of his lips.
"I couldn't sleep." I explained as I got under the covers next to him.
"You don't need to say anything, I'm just happy you're here." He said.
He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close to him so that my back was pressed against his chest. I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face and within minutes I had fallen back to sleep. I knew this probably didn't give him the same impression I was trying to get across to him this morning but in that moment I didn't care.
"Well that was quick." Someone said, waking me up.
I opened my eyes to see Tony stood in the doorway, I glanced down to see Clint's arms were wrapped tightly around my waist and his head was buried in the crook of my neck.
