Abi's P.O.V.

I was woken up by the most annoying, incessant beeping noise, I went to slam my hand down on my alarm clock when I realised my nightstand wasn't beside my bed, and I remembered I don't have an alarm clock. I sat bolt upright and looked around, the beeping noise got louder and a lot quicker, just as I realised it was a heart rate monitor the door to the room I was in swung open and three doctors and nurses rushed in.

"Miss Gilbert, I'm going to need you to lay back down please." The doctor said.

One of the nurses guided me back down slowly, but I wasn't comfortable laying flat so I opened my mouth to tell the nurse but nothing came out. She saw that I was trying to speak and watched as I pointed to the pillow under my head and sat up slightly.

"You want to sit up?" She asked.

I nodded quickly and she pressed a button on the side of the bed and it began to rise me up into a more comfortable sitting position.

"Miss Gilbert do you remember what happened?" The doctor asked.

I was silent for a minute or so as I tried to remember what happened, I wasn't remembering anything until it all hit me like a tonne of bricks. Fury turning up, wanting me to help, those weird creatures, them surrounding Clint, and the fire completely taking over. I nodded and he scribbled something down on his clipboard, he looked at me as if he was inspecting me before scribbling a few more things down.

"Do you know where you are now?" He asked.

I shook my head, the last thing I remembered was passing out after smiling at Clint and then I woke up here a few minutes ago.

"You're in a SHIELD hospital, you've been out for almost a week; you completely exhausted your body doing what you did to save Agent Barton, you were lucky it didn't kill you." He said.

My eyes widened as he said that, I'd been out for almost a week? And what would have happened if I had actually died? My head started to spin and I felt dizzy and sick as I clutched the sides of my head but after a few seconds the pain subsided and I the nausea wasn't too bad.

"Would you like me to go and find Agent Barton?" One of the nurses asked and I nodded my head quickly.

She smiled at me before walking out, and the other nurse and the doctor followed soon after, but they had to do a few checks first to make sure I was alright. I was a little dehydrated and very hungry but other than that I seemed to be fine, so they just upped my fluid intake through my IV before leaving, promising that food would be brought soon.

"Oh my god." I heard Clint's voice and instantly my head whipped round.

He looked a mess, he was still in his uniform, his hair was stuck up all over the place and his stubble had started to grow through; he obviously hadn't left the hospital and it honestly didn't surprise me, he's too stubborn. I opened my arms and he rushed over, quickly wrapping his arms around me tightly and I did the same to him as I breathed in his faint cologne that was masked with the smell of dirt and blood. I pointed to the pen and paper that the doctor had left for me, he said it might be a few days before my voice returns due to what happened.

"Have you showered yet?" I wrote and he chuckled.

"No." He said sheepishly.

"You smell disgusting." I scribbled down as I scrunched my nose up.

"Well I didn't want to leave, I've been sat outside that door for the past 5 days ready for this moment." He said as he brushed a strand of hair out of my face.

"I love you." I wrote and showed it to him with a smile.

"I love you too, you've had me worried sick too, I wasn't sure if you were going to make it." He said quietly, looking down at the floor.
