Abi's P.O.V.
The rest of the team, minus Tony, and Pepper were sat on the floor playing with the new puppies and I couldn't help but smile at the scene in front of me. The moment I saw the puppies in the store, I fell in love instantly and I know Clint did too so we just had to have them. I'd always wanted a dog growing up but dad always said no, making up some excuse about mom being allergic or something.
"What the hell is going on here?" A voice asked coldly from behind us.
I froze, instantly recognising the voice as Tony's, and I couldn't move as the puppies all ran past me towards Tony, all I could do was turn and watch his reaction. He glared down at them as they rubbed up against his legs, licking his bare feet and yapping happily.
"Someone needs to start explaining." He said, glaring at all of us.
Clint opened his mouth to speak but I quickly jumped to my feet and stood in front of him so Tony wouldn't pay him any attention.
"It was my idea Tony, I bought the puppies when Clint and I went out earlier. We passed a pet store and I dragged him inside, the lady said they were going to be sent to the shelter if they weren't bought today and I couldn't leave them there Tony, look at them! I promise they won't be a bother, the lady has them trained to only do their business on their little training mats and I've bought everything they need. I-" I rambled but he cut me off.
"They can't stay here." He said before turning on his heel and heading towards the elevator.
The others all began protesting and I quickly stood in front of him, cutting off his path to the elevator. He glared down at me and I gulped but I didn't back down, I wouldn't.
"What's so bad about having puppies huh Tony?" I asked him angrily.
"Where do you expect to keep them? In your room? Well what happens when they get bigger and no longer all fit in your room? What then? And where do you expect them to go when they start doing their business outside, because we don't have a garden! It's not happening, they need to go." He spat before walking around me to the elevator.
"You're just being an asshole because you argued with Pepper, screw you Tony!" I yelled as the elevator doors closed.
I turned and all of the others were staring wide eyed at me, shocked at my little outburst but I couldn't help it; my hormones are all over the place because of this pregnancy and he wants to get rid of my puppies but it's not happening. Without saying a word to the others I made my way to my room and began packing a bag to take with me, and a few minutes after I came in the door opened again.
"What are you doing?" Clint asked softly, placing a hand on my back.
"I'm packing a bag and I'm taking the puppies to the farm, the twins' nursery still needs to be painted before we can put any furniture in there so I figured I'd go up there and do that whilst I still can. It kills two birds with one stone really; I get the puppies out of Tony's hair before he flips his shit again and I can get the twins' nursery painted. " I said quickly.
"You don't have to do that, Tony will come around, please don't go." He begged and I knew exactly why.
"I have to Clint, I can't let him get rid of the puppies and I'll come back soon." I promised.
"You know I can't come with you, I have missions coming up, one of which I have to leave for tomorrow evening." He said sadly.
"Why is it that it's only you being sent off on these missions?" I demanded, anger suddenly surging through me; these damn hormones.
"I don't know." He said, although I knew he was lying.
I wanted to call him out on it but I didn't want to start an argument right now, not when I didn't know how long it would be until I see him next. I grabbed my bag and walked straight past him but he was following right behind me as I walked towards the living room. The others frowned when I dumped my bag next to the elevator before putting all of the puppies into their carriers, then it was my turn to frown as I realised I couldn't carry this all by myself.
