Not My Choice

Very sorry I haven't been writing. I didn't think people actually liked this. Thanks for reading!

I followed Todoroki out of our apartment (I think?) and down the hallway. He turns left and right and at first, I try to remember it, but I soon give up. This place is so big! And I'm scared of what Todoroki's gonna do to me. I can't believe I yelled at him and grabbed his throat...and he's been so nice to me...he makes me feel safe and like it's okay to let down my guard and... "I'm not going to hurt you Midoriya," Todoroki says without looking back at me. Oh god! Did I say all of that out loud! And now he knows I'm weak! Nice going Deku! I mentally beat myself up and use Kacchan's old nickname for me. I got upset at first when he called me that, but he explained that it was a joke, and a reminder, that I was anything but useless. Kacchan was a great friend, and now I'll probably never see him again. We never really got to catch up. I lose my train of thought as I slam into Todoroki's back. He had stopped I hadn't noticed. "Oh sorry," I say embarrassed again. "It's fine," he says looking at me. He opens the door we've stopped in front of to reveal a huge room. It's like a ballroom or something. Todoroki motions for me to come and I follow him to the center of the room. In the center, there are two couches facing each other with a coffee table in between. He sits down on one of them and pats the spot next to him, my cue to sit there. He said he wasn't going to hurt me, but I still don't know what we're doing here. I look around the room. It's very nice, with marble floors, marble pillars, a ceiling painted with those weird chubby angels. I also notice people in black standing at attention, one in front of each pillar, forming an oval of sorts in the room. Two more open the door at the end of the room and several new people walk in. A man with blue hair and red eyes, another man who came in twitching and then put a mask on and calmed down a little, and a girl with blonde hair put up in messy buns and a sadistic smile. They walk across the room and the blue-haired man sits down on the couch, while the other two stand behind the couch on either side of the man. "It's nice to see you again Shigaraki," Todoroki says to the blue-haired man. "The feeling is mutual Shoto," Shigaraki says, leaning forward. He looks at me and looks me up and down. "This your hooker?" he asks Todoroki looking back at him. My face contorts into a glare and I begin to get up, ready to beat the shit outa this guy, I sure as hell ain't nobody's hooker. Before I can stand up, Todoroki puts his arm out and gently pushes me back down. "He is not my hooker," he says firmly. "Midoriya is my friend and he will be joining us today." Shigaraki raises his eyebrows as if to say yeah sure, whatever you say, and leans back onto the couch. Todoroki opens his mouth, about to say something when the door Shigaraki and the others entered through, bursts open again. This time a man with black hair and burns all over his body storms in. He walks over to us and stops in between the couches. He speaks to Shigaraki first. "Hey Shiggy, sorry I'm late. But actually I won't be joining you all today. I'm trying to give Sho some more responsibilities around here. Take it easy on him, will ya?" "Sure Dabi," Shigaraki shrugs, shaking his head a little. Dabi turns to look at Todoroki, but then his gaze focuses on me. His lighthearted smile turns to a frown. He stalks over to me and grabs my collar, lifting me up into the air. "What the hell Dabi!" Todoroki yells. "I could ask you the same thing," Dabi says looking over at Todoroki. He throws me down onto the ground and kicks me in the gut. I just lie there. I'm scared to get back up. Over my head, I hear Dabi yelling at Todoroki. "Why the hell is this little shit (he must mean me) just sitting there like he works here, like he's in charge? I did not tell you to kidnap a partner, I told you to take someone for your amusement!" "So he is your hooker!" Shigaraki exclaims. "Damn right he is!" Dabi yells at both of them. "Goddamnit Shoto. Here, put this on him, make sure the little fuck knows his place." Dabi pulls something out of his pocket, it clanks like chains of some sort. "Shigaraki, meet me in my office. Let's give Shoto some time to collect his thoughts before dealing with our next customer." I hear them get up and walk out of some other door. "Midoriya, you can get up now," Todoroki says and I lift my head up. As I'm scrambling to my feet, I get a good look at what that Dabi guy gave Todoroki. It's a collar. Like one for a dog. With a leash. A million thoughts rush through my head as my eyes widen. Todoroki sees me looking and looks down at the collar too. "I'm sorry Midoriya," he says. "But I think I have to put this on you." He looks apologetic but I know he's going to do it because he was told to. I sit down on the couch and let him put the collar around me. I flinch a little as he tightens it around my neck. I don't move after that. I just sit there and look straight ahead. I can feel Todoroki fidgeting with the leash. I know he doesn't like this any more than I do, but he didn't have to do it. Dabi left. I don't think he's gonna come back, so why'd Todoroki do this to me?

After a little while, the doors open again and a new group comes through. A man with short brown hair and a plague mask, and his entourage, also wearing plague masks. He sits down and he and Todoroki talk for a little while. I don't pay any attention. Soon they leave and new people come in. So far he's talked with 5 different leaders of prominent gangs. Some I recognize from the news and other's I've seen, or at least their underlings. Todoroki's been talking to this one man for a while when a man in a suit comes in through a side door and whispers in Todoroki's ear. Todoroki's face remains emotionless and I can't tell what's happening. The man leaves and Todoroki turns his attention back to the gang leader. "I'm very sorry Mr. Monoma, I will have to reschedule this meeting. Something has come up. It's an urgent matter I must attend to quickly. Will you excuse me?" Todoroki says. Monoma nods and stands up. As he walks out of the room Todoroki stands up and follows the man out through another door. I don't think he knows that he's still holding onto my leash. This collar hurts my neck. And it hurts even more because Todoroki is going so much faster than me and I can barely keep up. Todoroki follows the man through a door into a room where several other people in suits are talking. I look around the room a little and realize it's an office. "Yaoyarozu, what is the meaning of this?" Todoroki asks the tall woman with a  black ponytail and red dress. "Todoroki, I'm very sorry to call you out of your meeting, but this is urgent," she stammers. "Well spit it out!" Todoroki half-yells. She regains her composure and says: "Dabi's missing. Kidnapped actually."
