You had joined the Van der Linde gang when they were camping in Colter, that's where you had stumbled upon them in need of shelter. Dutch, seeing that you needed help, was kind enough to offer you shelter and food.

Obviously they had their questions about who you were and where you came from. Surprisingly enough, they actually started to believe you when you explained that you were from the future. You had no idea how or why they believed you but you were glad that they did.

That's where you met John Marston. Arthur had just brought him back to the camp, after being attacked by wolves. Feeling completely useless in the gang, you helped the women with chores and spent time checking on John's wounds. The two of you never really talked too much, not having much to say. But you had spoken a little, mostly asking him how he was feeling and not much beyond that.

Horseshoe overlook was much better than Colter, you weren't freezing to death and everyone seemed to be in a much better mood, and that was much better in your opinion. However, sitting around the camp was beginning to bother you, you were just get bored with the repetitive chores.

You sighed as you sat down at the campfire, nobody else was sitting around it and you were just happy to get away from Miss Grimshaw.

"You alright?" John's voice came from behind you, startling you slightly.

"What?" you asked as you looked up at him. "Oh yeah, I'm fine" you nodded, turning your attention back to the fire.

"You sound frustrated" John observed as he sat down beside you.

"It's nothing, really. Arthur just promised me that he would teach me somethings but he's always busy. I mean, don't get me wrong, I understand. He's always running around for people and the last thing I want is to annoy him but I'm just bored of sitting around the camp, feeling useless" you explained, running your hand through your hair.

"What was he going to teach you?" John asked.

"How to ride a horse and how to shoot. Y'know, the things you need to know to survive out here" you shrugged.

"Well, I could teach ya that" John told you, making you look at him in surprise. "Only if you want" he added, not wanting to sound to eager.

"Really, you're sure? I don't want to bother you" you asked. You didn't want to be a burden to anyone but you knew that you had to learn these things, you thought that it would adjust to the time period some more.

"Sure. I haven't really left camp much since Colter, y'know healin' and all that. It'd be nice get out and to feel useful to someone" John nodded.

"Great, I'd like that. Thank you, John" you grinned, unable to hide your excitement.

"No problem. You wanna start today?" he asked.

"Sure" you nodded, still smiling.

"I'll meet you by the horses when you're ready" John told you.

"Thanks again, John" you flashed him yet another smile, patting his knee at you stood up. He watched as you headed towards your tent, a little amused by your eagerness, before standing and walking over to the horses.

You just grabbed your jacket before meeting with John, since you didn't really have anything else that you needed to take with you.

"Have you rode a horse before?" John asked as he checked his saddle quickly, making sure it was secure.
