12: house of cards

Previously...

You silently hum as you grip harder. "I missed you." You softly said as he asks, "what did you say?" You pout, making a sound escape from your closed mouth, attempting to keep the words hidden as you were the only one who heard it anyway. He was a bit confused but as you were about to close your eyes...

"I missed you too..."

Now...

Early morning, I was awoken with a few cheering and yelling downstairs. I saw Tsukasa sleeping beside me as I... was very much confused. I sat up, remembering some things that happened the night before but... why was there yelling and cheering at the floor below?

I try to shake up Tsukasa to see if I wasn't having another nightmare or something. He eventually woke up as he also heard the cheering from downstairs. "What's happening?" He asks me with a groggily and thirsty voice since he just woke up.

"I don't know, I woke up cause I felt like we were getting stalked, being watched by something," I say aloud as he sits up, a bit tired but walks out of the room. "Wait for me!" I yell as we both peep through a little gap on the staircase.

There was Amane, my parent's, and Mrs. Yugi. There's this one thing that I forgot to mention, my parents didn't have childhoods, my mother had a traumatizing past which caused early amnesia. Meanwhile, my dad's parents who are grandma and grandpa were strict.

They didn't allow him to have fun like the other kids. This caused them to meet up in High school and fall in love. They have similar pasts which made them happy together. Though, because of the same reasons, they overwork.

Now, my parents chose to be happy since they're taking a month off. After all, they have been working for me all these years that I've been born and need some time before we can move back into our estate.

What I'm trying to explain it that they weren't always happy, they haven't been having fun. They were always busy and never played a simple game like charades before. This means, my parents and Amane were trying to convince Mrs. Yugi to play with them this whole time.

I giggle at the funny gestures and things they tell Mrs. Yugi. I, myself, haven't experienced what playing with friends with like. I haven't been to school for... quite a while which made me ecstatic about it.

I quickly but carefully ran down the stairs with Tsukasa. We met eyes with Amane who seemed to be happier than usual. What I didn't know that he met up with someone.

"Hey guys," Amane greeted. "We were just about to play a game." He smiles like no one before which made me even more curious. "Did something happen this morning? I feel like you got ran over by a sunshine factory." I say, suspisions rising.

"And what does THAT mean?" He says as Mrs. Yugi sheepishly smiles at then. "Can you help me out over here?"

For the rest of the day, we played games like Uno, Twister, [Not that any of these games were made at the time Amane and Tsukasa were born neither was it imported to Japan. I'm just adding this cause it's fun and I'm too lazy to do my research so...] chess, and many more.

I guess today was a fun day.

"[Y/n] they haven't found any evidence but we can move back in now."

A/n: Oopsies... Maybe this was a little earlier than I thought. Well... I was trying to keep my cycle a little tidier than usual because I didn't want to worry you guys too much.
