Rushed :)

It was hard to believe, sure. It was hard to tell whether it was real or not. Didn't want to believe it was all gone in a snap, but.. "[Y/n]?"

// an unwanted, distorted reality. //

"Whatever you want me to do, I bet it's stupid," I whispered to myself, walking out of my room with a swarm of curiosity following her. She storms away to the kitchen where she finds no one.

... "Aiko!!" I yell, expecting a reply. "Aiiikkkooo!!" I call again, but I hear no reply. "Is anybody home? At the least?" I ask. "Maybe she just went out for a jog.." I shrug, laying my head on the counter. Silence covered the room over the quiet ticking of the clock. I stood up, looking around the house, calling for Aiko. "Aiko?" "I know you gotta be here somewhere!" "Aiko!?" "Ah-ih-eh-kho!!" "Where are you?!"

I sigh, sitting down by the counter as I recall searching the kitchen, I investigated the bathroom, looked through the storage room, went to her room.. nothing.. nada. She wasn't home. All as if she evaporated into dust. "You know what?" I walked to the front door. "I'm heading to The Yugi's house. I'm starving and if Aiko's not giving me food, might as well not starve to death."

I put on my shoes, wearing a proper outfit, tied my hair up into a ponytail, and walked out the door. As I walked past the familiar trail.. I began to hum to myself a song, every beat, a new step. A new lyric came a different kind of hum. But as their house got closer to my vision. I..

"No one's home," I entered their house with no hesitation. The door wasn't even locked. It made me skeptical as it almost looked like no one has lived in it for years. I run my hands across the table and there it was.. dust. I covered up my nozzle and began to walk into the house. It was all old. As I step on their wooden floor, there was always a creak.

Their stairs were dusty and the ceiling was too. I hear the rats as they scatter. And the food mephitic... I immediately left the house, it was like a home to me, why now does it start to rotten? Did they move out? Amane didn't tell me about this. Speaking of the Yugi twins, Tsukasa's missing. The sheriff wouldn't even let us look for him as there was no trace.

My throat began to tighten, making me squeeze it tightly. Okay, okay.. maybe I'm just overthinking this shit up. I might've overlooked it. I grabbed the guts to leave again and walk to Nana's house. No? How about Kins? Mitsu's? No one was there with me by the sidewalk...

No one was with me by the bus station...

No one was there in the market...

No one was in the park...

No one was there on the festival's hill...

No one was at Kamome...

On the verge of tears, I can feel my body began to soften, but my head won't stop aching like a stone. I fell to my knees next to a bridge. I held the bars, sniffing and trying to hold back the tears as the rain began to fall. One by one, I heard the raindrops as they fall unto the floor, I smelt petrichor.

I go inside Kamome as the rain continues the fall harder and the raindrops drop to the ground. I touch its walls, it was real right? It was real... I feel it. I stay there, crying with no absolute reason. I just wanted to go back home.
