Bella woke up to the sound of someone mowing the lawn in the backyard. She got up from her bed to look outside but sat back down when she felt a piercing headache.
Bella wasn't sure if it was the alcohol from last night or the big bruise on her eye. Either way, she fell back on the bed and laid there for a couple of minutes.
Her mind bringing her back to what happened the night before. Bella immediately pushed the thoughts away though. She didn't want to think about it nor realize it just yet.

She still had her clothes on from the kegger. Obviously after what happened Bella didn't get ready for bed last night. She didn't have the energy for it.
She slowly got back up and went to the bathroom connected to her bedroom. She purposely didn't look into the mirror before going into the shower. She knew she looked like shit and she didn't want to be reminded of what her father did to her last night.

After taking a hot shower, Bella put on a bikini and some mom shorts.
She took a deep breath before looking in the bathroom mirror...

It wasn't that bad. The cut was a little bigger than she expected but it wasn't huge. Her father's ring probably caused it. The bruise right above the cut wasn't that big either but it was very blue and a little purple.

She sighed. The wounds itself didn't hurt that bad but she still took a few painkillers for her headache.
But the pain wasn't what she was worried about...
She still had to leave the house in a couple of minutes to meet her friends. Her father was probably already out of the house so that wasn't the problem. But her friends were definitely gonna overload her with questions after they saw how angry Michael was last night.
And the fact that she had to hide her bruises didn't help.

She grabbed her make up bag from the drawer under the bathroom sink.
Bella once saw online that you could cover your dark circles with red lipstick. It made sense, red and blue are opposites colors so it could work. After putting a little red lipstick on her bruise she grabbed her concealer and a beauty blender.

Bella kept adding concealer and blending for a solid three minutes but the bruise was still very obvious. The concealer didn't cover much. To be honest, it looked like a mess. There was just a lot of concealer on her face and no coverage. Out of frustration Bella threw the concealer on the ground.
The quick movement gave Bella a stinging pain in her head again.
She closed her eyes and stood still for a second.

She thought back of last night. She thought back of her father screaming at her face and hitting her right in the eye.

Bella was so angry at her father and she wanted to fight back so bad but she was so scared. Bella wasn't scared of many things but her father was truly an exception.

She was more sad than scared, though. It hurt Bella so much to see her biggest friend turn into her biggest enemy in just a couple of years.
And even though Bella hated her father, she loved him too. A lot.
And she wasn't going to let anything happen to him. No matter what he did.

A tear escaped from Bella's eye. She wiped it away, aiming her focus back on her face.
She decided to just remove the concealer with a make up wipe since it literally didn't work at all.
Bella walked back into her room and grabbed a black hoodie from her closet.
It was summer and Bella was probably gonna be very hot but it was the best she could come up with.

The first thing she saw when Bella stepped out of the room was an older, blonde lady wiping the floor.
Fuck...
Bella quickly turned around and tried to take the other way towards the stairs.

"Bella?
I haven't seen you in a while..."

"Ms. Stone...Hi..." Bella said while awkwardly trying to hide her face.
