As we entered the room I saw several people looking at us as we walked in. It was weird holding Charles hand but I can't really deny the reality can I.
We walked to the stage where the priest stood. The priest welcomed the congregation and then read out about marriage and it's importance.
Marriage it's something that I have read, heard and even seen movies about but in reality it was just so surreal like something that just happened.
In the books that I read before, marriage was a bond of love, care and compassion, it was supposed to be the most beautiful thing. But here I was marrying only for the benefit of my kingdom with no love. Helping my kingdom and forming an alliance, granting them protection. It was not something bad I was happy to fulfil my duty but a part of me just wanted some fictional character of mine to appear out of the books and solve everything.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when the priest said alerting us both," Now please repeat after me."
"I vow to have and to hold from this day forward; for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to live and to cherish, till death do us part." we both repeated.
I wanted to be believe in every word that I repeated in the vow and I do, even if I don't know him I will be his wife and I hope that some day I look back to this day as the best decision of my life but fairytales don't exist, do they?
I felt a touch, his touch. Charles looked at me offering me his hand to exchange the rings.
As we exchanged the rings we said," With my body I honour you, all that I am I give you !,# all that I have I share with you, within the love of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit."
"Isabella and Charles you are now husband and wife." the priest declared. There it was, it was done. It just happened. I am married.
