Chapter Sixteen: I Am Not Broken Or Am I?
Bryn's POV
I was with my stylist, Vecky, she was adjusting my sapphire blue tie, I wore a black shirt with a lime green pants and emerald green coat.
I was horrified I had killed two innocent people who could have lived if they weren't reaped.
"Please welcome back, our victor, Bryn LaCombe!" yelled Caesar. The crowd screamed and roared. I walked out on stage, a sad smile on my face. I sat on the velvet chair next to Caesar. "So, are you glad you're alive?" I sighed, "Yes, I am, but some people are dead, thanks to me." "Ok, did you make friends with someone?" "Yes, I liked being friends with Maya and Marmite, they both were funny and now gone." My hands clasped into fists. "Will your family be glad you can come home?" "Kailey, yes but my parents..I don't know." I sighed deeply. "What will you do back in your District?" "Live my normal life, in the Victors Village." "Will you forgive yourself for killing Maya and Luke?" "I know they were innocent but I wanted to be alive." Caesar yelled "Congratulations to Bryn LaCombe, victor of the 125th Annual Hunger Games and the Fifth Quarter Quell!" Cheers exploded the air.
After the feast, it was the crowning.
I saw the President in his glory. A boy came with the crown on a silk pillow. Nolan picked up the crown and placed it on my head. He looked at me and placed the crown on my head. I knew it.
I punched him in the jaw. Everyone gasped. I ran off the stage blindly, to the tribute hotel where I stayed before the Games. I got to the fifth floor, I threw the crown right off my head onto the ground smashing it into five pieces. One piece for each feeling in my heart. Sadness, shock, terror, rage, and the worst, feeling broken, just like my broken crown on the ground.
