Levi's POV
The sound of bombs are heard in the distance. It's the only thing that I can hear anymore. It's what reminds me that I'm still fighting, and that this is reality.
Blood, violence, loved ones lost, and for what? To save this sorry place we call home? Exactly that. We're fighting for our home, our families and friends. When it comes down to it, all I want is peace. Peace is what I want, but it seems we get just the opposite. We threw our hands up and said 'let's fight for the land that is rightfully ours,' and 'let's solve everything with a war.' I'm sick of it. I'm fighting to win back my home and return the peace that they ruthlessly took from us.The cool wind blew my sheer curtains through my half opened window. I closed the book I was reading and set it down on my bedside table next to the unlit candle resting there. I turned my head slightly, looking towards the window. I was sitting on my bed as the wind blew my dark hair.
Sometimes I catch myself thinking about how things could have been if the king of the outer lands hadn't tried to claim ours. Would they still be here right now? It doesn't matter, I don't have time to think about people that are already gone.
I stood myself up and headed outside.My comrades and I are working our asses off, training and fighting everyday. Not only that, but me being someone that's been in the military for a while, I have to teach the newer members. I can't seem to catch a break. I rested the end of my gun on my shoulder and closed one eye, aiming at a target. I lowered my finger onto the trigger and pulled. The loud sound of the gun left a slight ringing in my ears.
"Step up." I said to the row of new recruits as I turned around to face them. I waited a second but nobody showed themselves to me. Tch, they must be scared. I was getting impatient, just as I took a step forward towards the group, one brave soldier stepped ahead of the crowd. A kid with dark brown hair and tan skin with confident and determined eyes.
"At least one of you won't be an utter waste of my time. Name." I asked. He quickly saluted and spoke,
"Eren Jaeger, sir." He replied. I looked him in the eye, my eyebrows furrowed. He didn't look away or even change his expression. He seems promising.
"Alright, Jaeger," I motioned for him to stand close to me, "show your class how to shoot a gun." He gave me a firm nod as I handed him a gun. He placed it on his shoulder and rested his cheek on the handle. He squinted and pulled the trigger. He didn't hit an inner ring on the target. Tch. He was too eager, he didn't focus enough. He let the gun down at his side.
"Remember," I paced around slowly, "this is training, you brats aren't going to be good at it yet. But I do expect you all to try your hardest." I got up close to a short blonde haired boy, "Next!"
~~
"If this is was for real, YOU'D ALL BE DEAD!"
I walked over to the small blonde boy,
"Obviously you weren't cut out for this, Arlert."~~
"You shouldn't be so hard on them." I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked behind me and saw him. Erwin
"Tch. I'm not being hard on them." I said and crossed my arms over my chest. His hand slid off my shoulder and rested on the small of my back.
"Levi, that ones crying." Erwin pointed at the boy who I just yelled at sitting on the ground with his face buried in his hands.
"That one's always crying. Besides, I can't go easy on them, they won't learn that way." Erwin chuckled a little and we continued watching the recruits practice from afar.
"Captain!" Someone shouted. I looked up to see a short boy with a crew cut running towards me. He made his way over and stood in front of me. I looked down at him waiting to hear what it was that he wanted.
"Captain, is it almost time for a break? Ya see, my friend, Sasha, she's really hungry, and so are the rest of us. We're tired." I turned my nose up, still looking down with my eyes."Tch." I flicked him on the forehead, "Get back to work. You've got lots of room for improvement." He walked off with his head down and his hand on his forehead. "Hustle!" I yelled. The boy quickly picked up his pace. Erwin let out a small chuckle from behind me. I looked back over my right shoulder and gave Erwin an angry look. He moved his hand a little and gripped my waist tightly.
~~~~~~~~~~~
I let out a deep sigh as I lowered my body into the steamy water. I rested my arms on the concrete and rocks behind me. I closed my eyes and tipped my head back, enjoying the hot spring. The sound of water splashing caused me to open my eyes. Picking my head back up, I saw Erwin now sitting next to me in the hot water. I kept my eye on him as he ran a hand through his now messy, blonde hair. My glance caught the attention of his bright blue eyes, forcing him to stare back at me.
"Levi," his voice startled me at first, "you're staring at me." I furrowed my eyebrows, almost out of embarrassment.
"No, I was not." I defended. I do find myself being guilty of staring at him but I'll never admit it. How could you not stare though? Erwin is amazing. He really is a talented man. It's hard not to watch when he fights or trains. I can't help but admire the way he moves so flawlessly. His muscular build, beautiful eyes, his passion; they're all undeniably beautiful traits. But the one thing that gets me the most, is the way he looks at me. Like he doesn't judge me, but cares for me.
"Come here, Levi." Erwin directed. I lifted myself up and moved closer to him so that our legs were touching.
He leaned forward and gently placed his hand on my cheek. He lightly brushed his lips against mine making me want more. He does this every time, just to tease me.I put my hand on the back of his neck and pulled him until our lips met once more. His right hand rested on my thigh, while his left was pulling me closer to him, deepening the kiss. Erwin licked my bottom lip, deciding to get straight to it, I allowed him access into my mouth. His tongue slipped into my mouth gracefully, exploring every part of it. Our lips parted but our tongues were still together. Erwin's hands moved down to my lower back and ass, he gripped me tightly and picked me up swinging my leg over him so I was straddling his lap. Our tongues swirled together causing me to let out a soft moan as we kissed once more. I closed my lips around his sealing the kiss. I pulled away, a string of saliva connecting from our mouths. I stared into his blue eyes, panting.
Erwin pulled me into a tight embrace. I closed my eyes and wrapped my arms around his bare back.
"It's getting late, we should probably head to bed." He said. I nodded my head and slid myself out of his lap. I stood up and stepped out of the spring, grabbing a towel and wrapping it around my waist. Erwin copied my moves, covering himself with a towel. He slowly stepped close to me and planted a soft, loving kiss on my lips. We said our good nights and left to our rooms.
~~
We're not lovers. Nor do I see that happening. We just care for each other. We've been friends since he drug me here to the military, there hasn't been a day we aren't with each other. Sometimes, we just get a little intimate, nothing wrong with that. I suppose you could say I like him. Maybe more than that, but in a world like this, falling in love is pointless.
