"Levi!" I looked over my shoulder to see who called me. "Levi!" The door busted open revealing the blonde commander. His face showed his fear. I stood up and walked towards Erwin, wondering what happened.
"Erwin? What's wrong?" I asked concerned. I reached my hand out and grabbed his hand lightly still looking into his eyes. Erwin threw his hands up and placed them roughly on my shoulders. His sudden movement caused me to jump a little.
"The base, it's been infiltrated. We need to arm our forces immediately!" My eyes widened at the news. Erwin seemed as though he was out of breath. "Gather your things we need to get our gear!" I quickly took his order and we ran out the door together.
We headed to the supply room to get our gear and our guns. I put on my coat and uniform and grabbed my gun before loading it.
I ran out of the room and immediately stopped in my tracks when I heard a gunshot in the near distance. I looked back and saw Erwin jogging over to me giving me a worried look.
"We can't afford to lose any soldiers, go!" At that, Erwin and I ran to gather our soldiers and get ready for battle. This was totally unexpected and out of the blue. Nobody was ready.
Erwin and I went separate ways to find our soldiers. There was no preparing for any of us. It was all so sudden. I heard a loud gunshot and a scream from outside. I swiveled my head and began running in the direction of the scream. I heard Erwin's signature call to tell the soldiers to charge.
"ADVANCE!!" He cried with his gun pointing upwards. I ran outside just in time to hear gunshots being fired and the loud battle cries coming from my comrades.
The opposing team stood crowded in between our own men killing them off one by one. I could hear the screams of my friends and the opposing soldiers as their lives are stripped from their bodies.
I stood by the walls to keep a safe distance as I had a plan. I kneeled down on one knee and silently equipped my rifle. I began searching for a good place to shoot. My eye caught one man; one of the leaders of the other side, a man with blonde hair and a beard who wore round glasses over his dull, blue eyes. I had been face to face with this man in a dangerous position. One in which I was almost killed.
I closed one eye and looked through the sight of my gun. I have a perfect shot of him if I just aim right. I placed my finger on the trigger and began to lightly pull it. I fired my shot just as the man moved. "Shit."
My bullet hit him in the shoulder, knocking him back a little. "Not good enough." I mumbled to myself. A sniper rifle might not be what I need right now but it'll have to work.
I stood up and began running into battle with my gun in hand. I was stopped in my tracks by a sudden and painful ringing in my ear. I looked forward to see a man with a gun pointed right at me. I reached my hand up and touched my ear and pulled it away with blood running down my fingers.
I began strutting back into battle, the pain in my ear not yet residing, I continued to fight. I held my gun to my shoulder and started pulling the trigger aiming at an enemy soldier just before I was knocked off my feet.
I was shoved to the ground and being beaten brutally by a man's two hands. It's over for me. Get up, come on get up. You're not weak... just get up....
My vision went black and all I could hear was the muffled screams and firing of guns before drifting off into a world of darkness.

I opened my eyes as the bright lights blinded me. I allowed my eyes to adjust and saw my best friend sitting on the side of me holding my hand. I looked all around me, I see white walls and Im lying in a neatly made, white bed. Erwin was sitting next to me with his head hung low.
I lifted up my head to show that I was awake. Erwin lifted his head the second he heard me shift. I watch as his eyes brightened.
"Levi." He sounded happy to see me, although, it was hard to hear him out of my right ear.
I sat up I lifted my hand to touch my ear. There's a bandage covering it completely. I looked down at my lap.
"Levi," Erwin started, "I'm sorry. I should have been watching you, it's my fault." I looked at Erwin, almost angry.
"Watching me? Why the hell do you think you always need to protect me?" I retaliated. Erwin looked at me with a saddened expression. I looked down again, somewhat ashamed of my words.
"Levi, it's because I care about you." Erwin placed his hand over mine, "I don't want you to get hurt. I don't know what I'd do without you." I've never heard Erwin say something like that. I suppose it was a given that we care for each other but I've never heard those words come out of his mouth.
Erwin turned my face towards him with a finger under my chin. He planted his lips onto my own. I slowly closed my eyes and began kissing back. I pulled away and leaned in for another soft peck on the lips.
I felt Erwin's hand reach over and lightly touch the ear that was covered. He let out a deep sigh. I feel his hand gently caress the side of my face. The way Erwin treats me with such care and compassion. They way he always had to take care of me,I felt weak, vulnerable. I hate it. Erwin and I go back, about 5 years, yet he hasn't changed one bit.
