I didn't want to go to the gym that morning.
I knew that today the teacher wouldn't care about my inability to participate and force me to join the class.
When I reached the doors to the gym, I took a deep- shaky- breath before I open them.
The space is filled with loud noise. The class hadn't even started yet, so the fact that it was this noisy made me squirm.
This was not going to end up well for me.
And sure enough, just as I was thinking that- Kyle and his friend entered the room.
I tried making myself as small as possible, standing in the crowd of students.
Weren't Ren and Wes in this class? Were they going to skip it again, and leave me to deal with my new bullies?
So much for promising to protect me, I thought but then shook my head.
We weren't friends, I was just in the same club as them.
"Settle down!" The teacher called out, forcing everyone to be quiet and listen to him. It took a few minutes until everyone stopped making noise, though.
"We're going to play a friendly game of basketball. No one's allowed to sit this one out, am I clear?" It felt like the last part was directed at me, and sure enough I found myself wincing from the glare he sent my way.
So much for hoping he would forget me.
I joined in as everyone warmed up and stretched, being careful to stay out of Kyle and his friends' eyes.
However, as it was time to start playing, I felt their hard stares almost immediately.
'You're going down', Kyle mouthed, he and the two others sharing smirks.
I tried to push down the panic as the game was starting, but I couldn't even move towards the playfield.
Suddenly I got shoved from behind. "Get in there before you get detention for the rest of the year!" I heard the gym teacher yell at me as I turned his way. I jumped, walking fast to where my team was standing.
I didn't even know the rules, and I had no one to ask.
I wish I skipped class like Wes and Ren. Maybe it would even get me expelled.
But alas I didn't, and the game started.
My hand was at the base of my throat for most of the game, and I stayed out of the way of the other players.
All I wanted was for this class to be over.
I was going to skip P.E from now on. I thought as I stood there. Someone came in front of me, pushing me back. Instead of shoving him, I stepped away. I wasn't going to allow them the opportunity to harm me.
"Are you even trying, newbie?" One of Kyle's friends asked. I couldn't remember his name.
I ignored him and took another step away from the others, when suddenly something crashed to the side of my head.
All thoughts were interrupted as I fell on the floor, hard.
A flesh of pain went through my head and the entire right side of my body as I fell on it.
I groaned as I collapsed, losing my breath for a few moments and started coughing. It made my head throb even more.
"Oh shit, is he bleeding?" I briefly heard. I closed my eyes and wished for the ground to swallow me.
