In which the guys come to my room (14)

"Room 204," Callum called out, "remember then number in case we ever need to find him."

I managed to give him a puzzled look as I opened the door, leaning on Wes as I did so.

"You were missing for the entire day, we got worried and tried asking the secretary what room you were in," Callum started to explain as I was lying down on my slightly messy bed.

"She didn't want to tell us even though we said we were club-mates and friends, and then Dom and Ace heard something about a new student getting sent to the nurse." Wes finished the story, making me realize neither of those two were with us.

I frowned but didn't have the energy to ask.

"They went to have some words with the guys that got you hurt," Callum explained, then sent a harsh look towards Ren. The dark-haired boy was leaning over some drawings on my desk, his back towards us so he couldn't see the look.

I couldn't tell what he was thinking, either.

"I almost had to tackle that guy to stop him from going," Wes laughed, then started to go through my art supply.

I tried not to overthink too much about what he meant.

"C-can you not touch my stuff," I let out, coughing a little.

Ren turned around, probably thinking I was talking to him, but my eyes were on Wes.

"You didn't tell Ren to stop, though," Wes pointed out, pouting like the little boy that he was.

I wanted to roll my eyes but stopped myself. For some reason, though I was insecure someone was looking at my drawings, I didn't want to prevent him from doing that.

"Stop nagging him," Ren ordered, walking away from the desk and sitting on the edge of my bed near my legs.

Just then, my stomach rumbled, reminding me of how badly I've been eating since I got here.

I was living on snacks I got from the machine because I didn't want to go to the cafeteria. Yesterday's lunch was the most I've eaten in the last few days.

"You hungry?" Wes asked, sitting down on the chair near my desk.

"Now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think I saw you at the cafeteria at all since coming here," Callum said, seeming thoughtful while he was doing something on his phone.

"I can bring you something. What do you want?" Ren asked, making me tense up. What did I want? That was a good question.

He seemed to see the battle in my head and nodded to himself.

"I'll be right back," Ren said, standing up with a hand in his pocket and exiting the room.

"What d-did you mean Ace a-and Dom went to have some words with the person who h-hurt me?" I asked, fumbling through my words. It was a miracle I could talk at all, but at least my head wasn't hurting as much.

Callum took a seat on the small couch, sighing while moving his hand through his dark brown hair.

"Dom probably went to threaten them, Ace joined to make sure he doesn't go overboard," It was Wes who answered, spinning in the chair.

I felt my eyes widen in shock. He would do something like that for me?

"I was gonna join to do it, but Ace beat me to it," Callum remarked through clenched teeth.

I gave him a look, hugging my knees to my chest. "Why d-do you not like Ace? He h-helped us," I asked carefully, worried I'd upset him

From the brief encounter we had with the big, intimidating guy, it didn't take a genius to notice Callum wasn't his biggest fan- even if he aided us.
