CHAPTER 2

: A Shattering Sound From The Past

Time flies fast and school's already over, students start packing their bags and biding goodbye to each other, and yet there she is, drown again in her thoughts.

"Ai-chan"

She wonders why would the past bother her in the present.

"Ai-chan"

Why would some unfamiliar scenarios plays in her head.

"Ai-chan"

Why would her dreams always turns into nightmares.

Why...?

She was startled by a pair of hands, gently shaking her. "Ai-chan" Yoshida Ayumi softly calls her.

"Why Yoshida-san?" She asked.

"Let's go, they're already outside" Ayumi answered, pointing outside the door where the boys are chit-chatting.

That's when she realized that only Ayumi and her was still in the room. She stood up and followed Ayumi outside.

She's just unconsciously following them in the back, still in her own world.

The shrunken detective noticed that and walked in front of her but the strawberry blonde girl was too occupied to notice him.

She was brought back to life when she bumped into someone's back---Conan's back specifically. They're now in a small vacant lot.

"What are we doing here?" She asked the boy with glasses as she scans the familiar street.

They were in the same district/street where the shrunken detective currently lives.

The boy with glasses just shrugged his shoulders, "You followed us" He nonchalantly said before running to the kids that are playing soccer.

She's about to take a step back but something caught her eyes. Their smiles..

After she dreamed those kind of things, she really can't say how long she'll last in this cruel world.

"Haibara-san! Why are you still standing there" Tsuburaya Mitsuhiko asked while waving his left hand up.

"Come here! I, Mitsuhiko and you are teammates. We'll beat Conan and eat Unadon at Hakase's!" Kojima Genta shouts before kicking the ball with force towards Ayumi who dodge it, "Goal!" He happily shouts.

"Mou Genta, food again" Mitsuhiko commented.

"Ai-chan!" Ayumi happily said before running towards her. She pulled her wrist towards the boy with glasses who's doing some tricks with the ball.

'There's nothing wrong about it, I guess? At least it'll make them happy', Ai thought

She smirked at Edogawa Conan before preparing herself to play, the sight makes him smirked too.
