Akutagawa's POV

Nakajima Atsushi, a familiar yet mysterious figure in my life. Ever since I was assigned to him, and entered his dream, I've been feeling an urge, a need for him. I wanted him, I needed him, badly. His beautiful cuts of silver hair, his soft lips that I wanted to claim for myself, his pale, soft skin that I wanted to abuse and mark all over with purple marks from my lips. I wanted him to myself. Not anyone else. I wanted him to be mine.

I flipped through the files in the office, looking for anything that would be useful to our assignment. Yes, we were assigned to traumatize him, but I could not bring myself to. It just hurts to see him in pain. I sighed, placing another useless file beside me. Then, one file caught my eye in the Archive. 'Nakajima Atsushi. Past Life. CONFIDENTIAL', I raised my hand to pull it down from the high shelf, but a certain ginger stopped me.

"Akutagawa. That is not for you to see. That is kept only for the Seven Deadly Sins. You are going to be a Sin soon after we complete this mission. You are a candidate for the Sin of Pride, and I am one for the Sin of Wrath. Be patient, you will be able to see it once you become a Sin. Be patient."

Patience? I snapped, I waited long enough. People always told me to wait. And they never came back after I did. Now, I had the chance to uncover something, and I will not let this chance out of my hands. Knocking the ginger aside, I pulled the file and it fell onto the floor, the file's contents spilling out. One thing caught my eye:

Has past association with Akutagawa Ryunosuke, Dazai Osamu and Nakahara Chuuya.

Postive Influences: Kyouka Izumi, Akutagawa Ryunosuke, Akutagawa Gin.

Negative Influences: Dazai Osamu, Nakahara Chuuya

Chuuya's POV

The moment Akutagawa shoved me away, I saw the file fall onto the ground, sprawled open as the contents flitted out, landing on the floor. I gasped as the contents caught my eye. There were detailed reports of his life, word for word, every second he spent in his previous life, was written down in precise strokes of a pen. Every thought, every feeling, every action. All his life was written there, his entire past life.

I panicked, not wanted any of the Sins to know about this mess, as knowing a capital secret of your past life, could result in an execution. Executions are... feared to say the least. First, the demon is ripped of their wings, their pride and joy, then they are burnt till they can barely survive, finally, their horns as cut off and they are thrown into the Human Realm, without their immortality, they are scarred and forced to live a Human life and eventually die and become a Mystery.

"Akutagawa. Not a word to anyone about what you saw." I muttered fear and worry laced my voice, cracking it. He nodded, knowing the consequences. If anyone knew, we'll be screwed a hundred times over. Past lives are a very sensitive topic to speak about here in the Underworld. Truth is, no one except the Seven Deadly Sins knows about their and everyone's past lives. The rule has been passed down for aeons, the first time it came out the reason being that it would hinder our work.

With that, we went back to our respective offices to finish up our remaining assignments and reports. I sat on the soft leather chair, allowing myself to sink into my thoughts. Past memories were a mystery to me, and that was one of the reasons why I worked and trained hard for a position. I wanted, no I needed to know my past. It was a burning desire in my heart that I wanted to suffice.

3rd Person's POV

It was the dead of the night, the starry sky was darker than usual, the moon only partially visible. Everyone in the Underworld was deep in slumber, their tiredness and fatigue taking over their bodies. Everyone but one certain ginger with bright blue eyes. Wearing dark clothing and under the cover of midnight, all that was visible was his pale ivory skin, his cerulean eyes and his flaming orange curls. His horns, wings and tail too of course.

He crawled out from the window of his apartment, stopping only to enjoy the cool breeze that grazed his skin. He spread the wings that he was born with from his lower back, feeling the familiar sensation of the scales that covered it like skin. It had been far too long since he was able to fly in such amazing weather, no heat, no sun, no rain and a perfect temperature.

With a leap, the young demon flew into the night, heading directly to the massive building that stood in the Underworld, the Headquarters. Where was the young demon headed? To the Archive to finally fill that hole that was craving knowledge of his past life. Yes, it was a stupid idea, but it was one he had planned for a long time, so what could go wrong?

-------------------------------------------------------------

The trembling hands of the youngster lost all of its strength when he read that few sentences. The small one allowed the file and its contents to fall onto the floor as he wordlessly crumbles onto the floor with it, tucking his knees to his chest and his wings protectively around himself. Tears streamed down his cheeks, hiccups occasionally choked his airways, but most of the sounds in the room were his soft sobs and cries. He had read his past and Dazai's as well as Akutagawa's. He knew his past now. He knew why Atsushi was so significant to him, and why Akutagawa was so allured to him. He also now knew why he was so attracted, so attached to Dazai and why they fit so well, like two perfect pieces of a puzzle.

They were supposed to be lovers in their past lives, but a certain someone messed with the timeline, a death that was fated did not happen, and a butterfly effect ensued.
