Chuuya's POV

He was trembling as he hugged me and cried. I smiled as I pet his head, I was happy that I didn't have to tell him, as the lump in my throat didn't let me. He gripped me tightly, not wanting to let go as if I was dying in his arms and he was in mine. He was just attached to me, and I could understand that. I whispered sweet nothings in his ears and drew circles on his back, his sobs gradually calmed down, but, I felt dizzy and I passed out.

"Chūuya!" My head pounded as I groggily opened my heavy lids. I felt an intense burn as I always did when I woke up. Probably because of the alcohol I've been drowning in since he left me since that was when I started. I looked around, I was not in the Underworld, but in an infirmary which I did not recognise. Dazai was clutching on to my hand as I woke up, his head expressed on the bed. "You're awake."

"Where am I?"

"Heaven's infirmary. " I flinched and immediately tried to wiggle out of his grasp, but he kept me close as I shivered under his touch. "I'm not supposed to be here!"

"It's fine. Mori-san and Fukuzawa-san had a ceasefire." I calmed down, and I inspected the bandages that bound me around my chest and my head. I realised one what's around my eye too. "I'm not injured, so what's all this?"

"You... are changing."

"Growing is natural Dazai."

"Not in terms of height, in terms of..." he unwrapped one wing and I gasped at the sight. My demon wing that was usually black as a void, was growing silver feathers with wine-red tips.

"What's the meaning of this?!"

"Chuuya, remember when I left and became an angel?" I nodded sadly at the memory. It still hurt like a fresh wound.

"Demons and Angels aren't allowed to love each other, so you were re-evaluated by your sins and you are to atone for them now like I am. You're becoming an angel, a guardian angel so that our love won't tear us apart."

"I don't want to be one."

"What?"

"I'm not going to be one Dazai."

"You have no choice! You're gonna disappear if you continue!"

"Like you even cared!"

"I do care! Chuuya I really do!"

"Then why did you leave me!"

"I didn't want to endanger you."

"And I didn't want you to leave."
