i had gotten a text from garcia, asking me to make my way to her office. i was a little confused, not sure why she wanted me in her fortress of solitude.

it must have been something serious, the text was urgent. i walked to where she resided and opened the door to see her, reid, and morgan staring at her main screen.

i knit my eyebrows not able to recognize the noise coming from her speakers. after a moment, when the singing started i felt my cheeks heat up with embarrassment.

"oh my god." i groaned, hiding my hands in my face.

i heard garcia laugh as she tried to explain how she had found this video of a sophomore me,"i have to do my research on new members, lainey. it goes into my database, i couldn't ignore this video."

my head shot up as i walked closer to the screen. it showed a music video i had made my sophomore year with a song i wrote called what i said. i looked at reid who was watching intently.

i was wearing a purple flow-y skirt covered in glitter with a white cropped tank top that said that girl in rhinestone letters. and to tie it all together i had on a purple sequin fedora and white doc martens.

"and you had to show it to reid and morgan?" i asked, looking down at her with glaring eyes.

"i had to share this masterpiece with others," she defended her choices, but he laughing didn't match up with her words,"i showed morgan and he brought reid."

i watched in horror as the bridge started, my embarrassment pulsing through my veins at warp speed.

it's curtain call the stage is set, spotlight on you ain't seen nothing yet, this moment is something that you won't forget, oh no you won't because-

"okay, turn this off." i said, going for the computer's power button as the chorus began playing.

morgan grabbed my hand and pulled it back,"no it's too good."

reid nodded, agreeing objectively,"the fast paced beat is typical for what one would consider 'catchy'."

i looked at him with narrowed eyes, not sure it was a compliment.

"do you still know this dance?" garcia asked, referring to the choreography the dancers and i did in the video.

i sighed and hung my head, knowing they weren't going to let up. i thought we were all over the fact that i went to laguardia, but i guess it's just a part of my character development. i muttered weakly,"yes."

morgan and garcia let out an oooh, begging me to do it.

but thankfully, reid asked a question that saved me temporarily,"why did you do this?"

i looked up and smiled, glad to have the chance to explain myself,"my visual arts class paired up with the dance program and we were meant to come up with something that involved both visual arts and dance. i chose a music video."

"well, it actually is a good song. any chance i could download this to my mp3 player?" garcia asked, her tone amused.

i rolled my eyes and shook my head,"i beg you not to."

she simply smirked, turning back to her screen. i let out a breath of relief when our phones buzzed.

morgan took his out and read,"it's hotch, there's a case."

"clurman's was the second bombing this morning, both in residential neighborhoods in palm beach." hotch informed us as i looked at the pictures we had been given.
