Chapter 2

It is a very sunny Saturday. The summer is fast approaching. And a lot of people were looking forward for the summer.

I am currently packing my things for my vacation and I have decided to take a vacation somewhere in Leyte. 

Baybay, Leyte is my father's hometown and I will be staying at our ancestral house. I heard that there's a lot of beaches there, just the thought of the alluring beaches made me excited somehow. I found out last night that there's a famous tourist attraction there called 16,000 Blossoms.

After packing my things, I realized that something is missing in my luggage. So, I decided to go to a mall nearby to shop for some summer outfits and swimming attire that I'll be needing for my vacation.

I went to my room and I decided to wear a ripped jeans and black short knitted v-neck top, paired with white sneakers. After putting a light makeup, I finally went out to go to the mall. I decided to take my car since I will be going to my parent's house and it will be a hassle if I will just take Grab.

After quite some time, I arrived at the mall. I parked my car at the basement and went out to shop for the things that I need.

I visited some of my favorite shops and started to look for summer dresses and swim wears.

After I bought everything I need for my vacation, I went to Starbucks to go grab some coffee for myself. After finishing my coffee, I went to J.CO Donuts to buy some donuts for my parents as a pasalubong for them.

Matapos kong masiguro na lahat ng kailangan ko ay nabili ko na, naglakad na ako patungo sa kinaroroonan ng aking sasakyan. Nang makarating ako doon ay nilagay ko sa compartment ng sasakyan ko ang mga paper bags ng mga pinamili ko. Matapos ay nagtungo na ako sa driver's seat para pumunta na sa bahay ng mga magulang ko.

After 30 minutes, I arrived at my parent's house. I parked and I went out of the car and took my pasalubong for them.

Pagkapasok ko sa gate ng bahay namin ay natanaw ko ang mga magulang ko sa garden na nakaupo sa coffee table doon. Kumaway ako sa kanila at naglakad papalapit sa kanila.

"Hi, Mom. Hi, Dad. How are you guys?" I greeted them as I went to their seats and kissed their cheeks.

"We're both fine, hija. Nag-uusap lang kami ng dad mo dito sa garden. How are you, hija? Ang tagal mong hindi nakabisita dito sa bahay." My mom said to me with her sweet voice ngunit may bahid ng pag tatampo dahil tatlong linggo na ang nakakalipas noong huling binisita ko sila dito sa bahay.

Umupo ako sa isa sa mga upuan at inilagay ang dala kong pasalubong para sa kanila sa mesa.

"I'm fine naman po. I just went to the mall and brought you guys some donuts. I've been busy po sa coffee shop eh, that's why I wasn't able to visit you both."

After sipping from his coffee my dad looked at me. "I heard from your mom that you will be going to take a vacation. So, where are you planning to go?" My dad said.

"Sa hometown niyo po dad. It's been a while na rin po since I last went there." I answered to my dad after taking a bite from my donut.

"That's a good choice, hija! Your dad and I went there November last year to visit our ancestral house and there's a lot of nice beaches near our house."

"Yes, Ma. Balak ko po sana na sa ancestral house na lang po natin ako mag stay for a while. Then, maglilibot libot na lang po ako mag-isa doon."

"So kailan ang flight mo papunta doon?" Dad asked me.

I answered "My flight is on monday morning and sa tuesday naman po ako mag sisimulang mamasyal doon para makapag pahinga po muna ako saglit."

"Sa monday na pala. Ba't ngayon mo lang sinabi? Wait, tatawagan ko lang yung caretaker natin doon para kumustahin kung malinis at maayos ba ang bahay." After saying that, he stood up to call the caretaker of our ancestral house.

My mom went beside me and said "Amanda, you should stay here for dinner. I'm going to cook your favorite, okay?"

"Yes Ma. I missed your Beef Caldereta, matagal ko na pong di natitikman luto niyo." I said those words to her and hugged her tightly since I missed her.

After a few minutes, we went to the kitchen and I decided to help her prepare our dinner.

Nang dumating ang oras ng hapunan ay sama sama kaming kumain sa iisang hapagkainan. At masayang nag-kekwentuhan tungkol sa isa't isa.

When we finished our dinner, we went to the garden to continue the chitchat while having our coffee.

After some time, nagpaalam na ako sa mga magulang ko at gumayak na para umuwi sa condo ko.

Nang makarating ako sa tinutuluyan ko ay inayos ko na muli ang mga gamit ko para sa bakasyon ko at nang matapos ako sa pag iimpake ay pumasok na ako sa kwarto ko para magready na sa pag tulog ko.

I went to my bathroom and took a half bath. After that, I did my night skincare routine. When I finished everything, I hopped into my bed and checked my phone.

Nang matapos kong icheck ang phone ko ay hindi ko mapigilang mapaisip nung nangyari sa amin ni Arkin. It has been three months pero hirap pa rin ako na kalimutan siya. I silently told to myself that I hope that I'll forget everything about him while on my vacation.

I sighed and finally decided to sleep.
