Chapter 5

It was already lunchtime when I got home from my parent's farm, I went there with Mang Lito only because Kaer wasn't able to come with us. When I woke up earlier, Nanay Estrella said that Kaer already went to the school. Nanay Estrella said that maybe he have some errands to do. And as far as I remember, the school year was just 'bout to end. So probably, he's in the school to finish his works before the summer starts. 

As I walked in the house, I can hear Kaer talking to someone. 

"Oh Kaer's already home." I mumbled to myself.

I can't recognize the voice that Kaer was talking with, so I think that it wasn't Nanay Estrella and the voice is too manly to be her voice. When I finally entered the living room, I saw Kaer walking with another guy. The guy's back was facing me that's why I couldn't see his face. 

When Kaer noticed that I was there, he stood up and called me. "Hey Mandy! You are already here! How's your tour at the farm?" he asked.

"Oh wait, I would like to introduce you to my best friend, Xavi." he added.

The guy stood up and extended his hand to me. "Hi, I am Xavier Kai! You must be Amanda. Nice to finally meet you!"

I took his hand to shake hands with me and smiled at him. "Amanda is too old-fashioned. You can just call me Mandy, since most people that I know call me in that name." I said in matter of fact tone.  

"Nice to meet you too! The farm's very nice and the farmers were very friendly. " I added.

"Anyway, my best friend just came here from Manila last Saturday. Ngayon lang kami nakapag kita because he immediately visited his relatives here." We all sat on a couch as Kaer speaks.

"Gusto niya daw mamasyal ngayon and since pupunta ka naman sa 16,000 Blossoms, I suggested to him that we can just come with you." he added.

Xavier shyly looked at me and said, "Well, if that's okay with you?"

"No worries, it's much better nga kung magkakasama tayong pumunta doon." I said to them. 

"That's great!" Kaer excitedly exclaimed. 

Kaer looked at Xavier and said, "Sabi ko naman sayo papayag 'yan si Mandy! Mabait kaya 'yan!" Xavier and I both laughed at Kaer. Kaer can be a really childish sometimes. 

After a few moment of silence, Kaer suddenly spoke. 

"Why don't we just eat first before we go? Mas makakatipid pa tayo." Kaer told us.

"Ang sabihin mo kuripot ka lang talaga!" Xavier joked.

"Hoy! Hindi kaya ako kuripot!" Kaer said.

"Sus, ayaw po umamin." Xavier told, halatang pinipikon si Kaer at si Kaer naman ayon, mukhang batang napipikon na. They both look so cute at that moment. 

"Parang mga bata e." I said to myself.

"Hey guys, stop it! Baka magkapikunan pa kayo ha." Pag aawat ko sa kanilang dalawa. 

"Eto kasi si Kai!" Parang bata na nag susumbong si Kaer. Napatawa tuloy ako.

"Hey, don't call me Kai!" sabi pa ni Xavier kay Kaer. Para talagang bata 'tong dalawang 'to.

"Wag mo naman ako tawanan, Mandy!" Nag tatampong sabi ni Kaer.

"Sorry, I can't help it! Para kasi kayong mga bata." sabi ko habang nag pipigil ng tawa.

"But seriously speaking, let's all eat na! So we could go already." I told them.

"Tara! Tara! Para makaalis na tayo." Kaer excitedly said.
