Chapter 34: Overhearing a conversation

We decided to eat at this amazing pizza place where the cook in a brick oven. " So Rose tell me about yourself" Austin's mom said  after we ordered our pizza. "Well I'm from Texas, I was in school but I decided to take a break from it to come work for Austin on tour." " How did you say you two met Austin" his mom asked. "Instagram. She liked my pic about Posty Fest and her username was cool so I went to her profile and thought she was beautiful so I invited her and her friends to come out to Posty Fest and we talked a few months before they came out." he said grabbing my hand. "Well you did a good job at picking her" his step mom said smiling at me.I felt so happy that they were all open to me and liked me it was a lot taken off of me and I was grateful. We sat at the pizza place for hours talking and finally decided to head back to Austin's because his parents were exhausted. When we got back they all went to the rooms they were staying in and Austin went to the living room to watch more tv while I decided to shower. When I got done I went downstairs to see the tv was paused and Austin had fallen asleep so I went over to him and kissed his forehead which woke him up. "Come sit with me" he said pulling me down beside him and wrapping his arms around me causing me to lay my head on his chest. "I'm so glad your parents like me" "I told you there was nothing to it. How do you feel about meeting my crew tomorrow?" " I'm still nervous but I think I'll be fine." "Good because they are coming for lunch tomorrow." Just then his mom came out of her room and came and sat with us. "So Rose do you wanna help me and Jodie cook tomorrow?" "I'd love too!  What time do you wanna start?" "We were thinking about 7." "Sounds great I'll be there. Well in that case I better get to bed." I said kissing Austin goodnight and hugging his mom leaving them in the living room. I headed up the stairs and decided when I reached the top that I wanted a glass of water before I went to bed so I headed to the kitchen and overheard Austin and his mom talking. " Son I'm very proud of you. I really think she could be the one for you." "thanks mom. I know I haven't known her very long but I feel like I've known her all my life. She's so perfect for me." Hearing him say this made my heart so full. "I know it's crazy but I might be falling in love with her mom." "Well Austin when you know you know. I can see the chemistry between you two. You light up anytime you look at her or she looks at you and she is the same way." Wow she was right about that. Was I falling in love with Austin? "I think I'm gonna follow her footsteps and go to bed too." "Alright mom, love you." "Love you too son. Oh and Austin" "Yeah mom" "don't wait too long to tell her you love her. I want her around for a long time." "I won't" At that moment I ran up the stairs forgetting my water. I was in shock at that conversation. He was falling in love with me and I with him! I know it's crazy since we haven't been together that long but like his mom said when you know, you know and I knew. I went to the bathroom and got ready for bed. I heard Austin come in the room as I was walking out of the bathroom. "Hi" I said to him as he got in the bed. "Hi" he said kissing me. "I've been meaning to do that all evening but didn't get the chance because my family wouldn't give us some alone time." I laughed and said "it's okay I don't mind it." "hey thanks for cooking with them tomorrow. It means a lot to them since none of my ex's would help they always slept until the food was done and would barely speak while we did eat." "Oh it's no problem I enjoy cooking and plus it gives them time to tell me embarrassing stories about you when you were growing up." "Jokes on you because I have no embarrassing stories" "Austin please I've seen your high school pictures I know you did embarrassing stuff in high school." "You got me there but I'll let them tell those to you" "Sounds good. Now I need to get to sleep if I'm gonna get up and cook." I said leaning over and kissing him goodnight and turning my alarm on my phone on. "Goodnight" he said and we both fell asleep. Before I knew it I heard my phone going off and Austin groaning " please make it stop" I heard him say in a grumpy voice. "Well good morning to you too sleepy head" I said as I got out of the bed to go brush my teeth. By the time I had gotten done he had fallen asleep again and I laughed as I left the room and headed downstairs to see Jodie was already awake and making coffee. "Good morning" I said to her and she said it back "how did you sleep?" "eh not so well. I don't sleep well in strange places." "I know the feeling I don't either. It took me about 2 days before I got any good sleep when I first got here." Just then Austin's mom came down the stairs "who's ready to cook?" she said excitingly and me and Jodie laughed. "Alright let's get this show on the road" his mom said. So we started cooking.
