Becas POV
I'm honestly so pissed right now. Chicago is planning on asking Chloe out. I can't talk about my feelings to Chloe so I came to the basketball court. I was in the team freshman year but decided to drop the team to focus on music but I still play sometimes. It honestly helps with my anger so that's why I'm here.
"Mind if I shoot with you?" An annoying voice came from behind me.
"Go away Jesse I'm not in the mood." I say as I shoot a perfect three pointer.
"Come on, just one game of HORSE?" Jesse said trying to sway me. "If you win you never have to see me again."
"Fine." I say with a sigh. "This is only so I can get rid of you."
"But what if I win?" Jesse said with a smile as he made an easy layup. "Then you have to watch a movie with me."
"I never agreed to that." I say as he passes me the ball.
"To bad we already started playing." He says as he smirks.
I glare at him as I take the shoot he previously took and succeeding. I decided to make the game a little more challenging as I shot from the free throw line. I give a sarcastic smile to Jesse as I throw him the ball. Jesse catches it but misses the shot.
"Come on Swanson that was easy." I say with a genuine laugh. "That just gave you your first letter."
I decided to shoot from the same place but a little farther back. The ball goes in with no problems... for me at least. Jesse once again missed the shot.
"Wow HO you're not doing to hot are you?" I asked as I laugh.
I decided to go for a three pointer but I miss. I gave the balm to Jesse and he shot an almost perfect shot.
"Were you holding back on me before Swanson?" I ask as he gets ready for his next shot.
"Maybe I was Maybe I wasn't you may never know." He says smiling. "Also you have an H now."
The game continued with light banter going back and fourth. We did some pretty dumb shots like the granny or one handed. Surprisingly I lost and Jesse won. But in my defense Jesse is on the varsity basketball team and I haven't played in awhile.
"You owe me a movie Mitchell." Jesse said with a bright smile.
"You know it won't be a date right?" I ask. "I still have a girlfriend and am very gay."
"I guess I'll just have to wait till both of those things change." Jesse said with a smirk.
"That might not happen for awhile." I say with a light chuckle.
"You're worth the wait." Jesse said quietly. "Now if you'll excuse me I need to get home."
I watch Jesse walk off as I think about what he said. Some people are definitely worth the wait for others. But I'm definitely not Jesses person. I don't know who is but I feel like I've met them before. But surprisingly after my talk with Jesse I did figure something out. I'm definitely not Ava's person and as much as I hate to admit it her person is Tom. I just think someone need to tell her that.
Me: Hey can you meet me in the park we need to talk... (4:45pm)
Ava Zimmerman: Um yeah on my way. (4:48pm)

Chloe's POV
I decided to get pizza after school just for fun. I really didn't have a reason I was just for fun. When I arrived at the pizzeria I saw a new yet familiar face. Chicago was sitting at one of the tables just playing on his phone. He looked up from his phone and sees me. I smile at him as I make my way inside and sit across from him.
"Hey stranger." I say as a steal a piece of his pizza.
"Hey Chlo, good to see you again." Chicago said smiling.
It was weird hearing someone else besides Beca call me Chlo. Aubrey doesn't even do that. I honestly didn't like it when he said it. When Beca called me Chlo it made butterflies erupt in my stomach. But with Chicago it was nothing.
"So how did you like your first day at Barden?" I asked brushing off the feeling.
"Good." He said simply. "Everyone was really nice to me... for the most part."
"Yeah Beca isn't one for letting people into her life." I say thinking back to a conversation we once had about opening up.
"Do you happen to know why that is?" Chicago asked carefully.
"I do but I don't think she would want me to tell you." I say honestly.
"That's fine." He says. "I do have a question though."
"Then I probably have an answer." I say in a light joking manner.
"Do you Maybe I don't know..." Chicago said rather nervously. "Do you wanna go on a date with me?"
"Sure." I say with a small smile.
I know that I probably don't feel anything with Chicago but I can't stand seeing Beca in a relationship with Ava. I'm sure that me and Chicago will end up falling in love. It just might take some time.
"Really?" Chicago asked shocked. "Okay how about Friday? We can go bulling or something like that."
"Sounds fun." I say with a light laugh.
We continued to just sit and talk about anything and everything. Then I realized something. I'm doing the same thing to Chicago that I did with Tom. I'm using him as a distraction. But I'm sure it will only be one date. I won't be put in a relationship that I don't want to be in this time.

"Hey your text sounded kind serious." Ava said as she approached me. "You okay?"
"Um yeah I just want to say a few things." I say nervously. "First thing is we need to break up."
"What I thought what we had was good." Ava said sadly.
"Yeah well I'm not your person..." I say trying to gain some confidence. "Tom is. Which is actually my second thing. We aren't each other's person. Tom is definitely yours and I think Chloe is mine."
"You finally figured it out huh." Ava said casually.
"I'm sorry, what?" I asked I. Pure confusion.
"I see how you two act around each other." Ava said. "You both obviously have feelings for one another. Now all you have to do is ask her out before Chicago does."
"Thank you so much for understanding." I say as I start jogging to my car. "You should go after Tom."

Chloe's POV
Chicago and I ended up going over to my house. We were casually studying while occasionally glancing at one another.
Once we both finished our homework we realized it was rather late and that Chicago needed to head home. I walked him to the door but before he left he turned around and kissed me. It felt so wrong. It's not like their weren't any sparks like there were with Tom. It felt as if he shouldn't be kissing me. It might just be because I met him today so I don't think to much of it and kiss him back. I could've sworn I heard a car door open and close twice one not far behind the other.

Becas POV
I speed down the road as fast as possible. I needed to make it to Chloe before Chicago was able to do anything. Ava talked some sense into me. I pulled up to her street and up to her house.
I quickly get out of my car but as soon as I started to make my way up to her front door I saw something I wish I hadn't. Chloe was kissing soldier boy on her front porch. Ava was wrong... I was wrong. Chloe doesn't love me. I turn around and got back in my car and drove off with tears slowly falling down my cheeks. This is what happens when I let my walls down. I get hurt.
