Margret's pov. (Sevy)
So far this summer has been amazing. Dad had made an effort to make it the best I had ever had. We had painted my room dark purple and there were a few stripes of silver here and there. "Dad what are you burning?" I yell from my room as I start to walk down to the kitchen. When I get there I see him lazily flicking his wand every once in a while at the stove making me frown a little when I see the eggs he was making burning. "Dad!" I yelp and he looks up at me then over at the stove that I was pointing at. "Again." He mumbles before flicking his wand once again so the pan heads over to the sink. "That's the thirteenth time this week. You need to pay more attention when cooking dad." I say and he gives a small sigh. I had been talking more as the summer went on which had made dad very happy with me. "Let's go out to eat." He suggest and I frown a little at him. "Then I can't talk to you. I mean I can't talk verbally you know that right? Come on dad do you really not want to cook for me that badly that you burn everything?" I say before crossing my arms over my chest. Dad looks angry before slamming his hands down on the table. I feel tears starting to fall. "So I'm right. I hate this!" I say before running from the kitchen back up to my room as more tears fall. I wasn't trying to be a brat or anything I just thought that he would make me something nice for my birthday.
I lay on my bed and berry my face in the black pillow that was on my bed. Dad had gotten me a nice big bed and we put black and silver sheets on it and there was a big purple pillow that I could snuggle with when I had nightmares. I sob silently into the pillow, it came so naturally to me because I was so used to not making a sound for so long. There was a soft knock on the door but I ignore it and soon I hear it open before there was a gentle pat on my back before the hand rubs it a little. "Margret....Sevy what is wrong baby?" Dad asks and I give a sigh as I roll over to look up at him. "What's wrong is that almost every morning this week you have burned our food, even dinner and I thought just for today you wouldn't. I get it your not used to having a kid around and doing what you like but.....I thought my......" I say before shaking my head a little and covering my eyes with my hands as the tears start again. Dad sighs before he pulls me up into a tight hug and rocks gently back and forth until I had calmed down a little. "I'm trying. I really am and I want to be the dad you deserve to have." He says before giving a small sigh and looking down at his hands. "It's my birthday. You knew that right?" I say as I look up at him and he looks me in the eyes. "I do. I wanted to make the perfect breakfast and dinner for you but I messed it up." He says before frowning a little. I giggle before gently patting his hand. "It's ok dad. We both messed it up." I say and he gives a sigh before nodding his head.
After that he leaves me alone telling me to just relax and he would have breakfast ready for me soon. He soon come back with two plates of food and we sit in my room eating. The rest of the day we spend together playing chest and even working on some potions. I know lame right working on potions on my birthday but oddly enough I was having a lot of fun with my dad. The rest of the summer was great and we headed back to the school two weeks before school started. I was back in my room in the potions class room and it made me smile a little to see the room looked a little warmer than last year. Dark green and silver sheets were on the bed and I smile a little when Snape walks in and gives me a smile. "Do you like the changes? Dumbledore had them done over the summer so you felt like you were still a part of your house even if you aren't sleeping there." Snape says and I give him a smile. "I love it. Can I go see the head master and thank him?" I say and Snape nods slowly before walking with me up there. "Sevy how was your summer?" Dumbledore asks when he sees me and I give him a bright smile. "It was great! Thanks for fixing up my room that way. It's really nice." I say as a blush covers my cheeks making him smile kindly at me. "That is good. Sevy would you mind going and walking around the school just remember all the rules." Dumbledore says making me nod my head quickly before looking up at Snape who gives a small nod of his head at me.
