The world seemed to freeze as Soleils body falls against the sand beneath the Moon Goddess' feet. The Blade of Stars and Dreams lodged deeply inside her shoulder, so close to scraping the heart. My screams fell on deaf ears as I run forward, towards my mate.

My beautiful mate had jumped in front of the Moon Goddess, taking the hit. I growl lowly, whimpering at the sight of Soleils eyes closed, blood soaking the shirt she's wearing.

All I could see is my mate. All I could hear is my mates shallow breathing. Why would she do that? What compelled her to take the blow? My mate is a hero yet a stupid one. I howl in agony as the heat in my shoulder reminded me of our bond. I can feel her pain much stronger now. "Damira..."

Caressing my mates hair, looking at the blade with hate. Did Hecate say the spell? Did she whisper it? I couldn't hear over my mates pained cry. "Damira!" I growl lowly at the voice beside me, Baden pale and filled with fear.

"What!" I scream, clutching my mate closer to my chest, her head limp against my chest. Baden sighs deeply.

"We need to get Soleil to the doctor. Hecate is gone," he looks behind us, Selene all alone in the middle of the beach. I nod firmly, ignoring the silent goddess, ignoring the pack behind me and head straight towards the pack house.

I couldn't care less about what happens after, all I care about is getting my mate better. Her breathing is still slightly stable, but her heart rate is slow. I worry my lip as I run quicker, paws hitting the dirt of the forest and onto hard grass.

My pack followed behind, their worry lining the link, tugging it to feel for their Luna. Once Soleil recognized who she is, to me and the pack, she's immediately connected to her pack. The whole Island knows that their Luna is hurt. 

I worry my lip with my teeth, slamming the gates open and calling for the pack doctor. My low and demanding voice vibrating off the walls. My mate! 

The pack doctor rushes into the common hall, sweat seeping over his brows as he comes to my side. "Alpha Queen!" he replies, breathless at the sight of my limp mate. Her skin has paled immensely, her breathing labored. 

"Help her!" I growl, my wolf on the brink of shifting. She's mad. She's so fucking mad right now its sending me on the edge. Skin rippling with a shift. Doctor Rookwood mumbles apologies as he sends us down the hall and into the medical wing. Nurses had cleaned out the room and a bed for Soleil. 

Gently, I lie my beautiful mate down on the white sheets, soon to be stained red. Doctor Rookwood yells orders to the nurses, directing his serious gaze towards my mate. "Alpha, may I touch your mate, to look at her wound closely?" I growl lowly but nod. 

"Please." I reply, clutching onto Soleil's hand. Behind me, Baden enters with the Moon Goddess, the two looking like death. I advert my gaze away from them. The only thing I need to focus on is Soleil. My heart and soul. The one person who understands me. The one person who puts the fuck up with me. The girl who cried my name in frustration because I wouldn't accept. 

"Can you tell me, did the ancient words were spoken while the blade was lodged?" The doctor asked, his fingers gently touching the wound around the blade. Its silver end with stars shining, almost mockingly. 

"No," Selene replied, shaking her head in utter disappointment. "I-I don't know how Soleil got so fast. To get in front of me..." I eye the goddess, gritting my teeth. My mate is special that's why and she fucking loves you. That's why she protected you. 

"Well, Luna is very lucky Alpha. The blade no where near touched the heart," he trailed off, eyeing the blade and then to me, eyes worried. "However, if we removed the blade without care, the blade could scrape her heart." the table bent into a violent angle as I fist it with my hand, growling lowly. 

"You better fucking take good fucking care then! My mate better fucking live, you hear?!" I grab him by the collar, seething. One bad move and Soleil could...! Selene tugged me away, her voodoo powers soothing down my wolf. 

"Damira," she sooths. "They will. I promise. I will even help." with a push, I move away from the goddess, kneeling by Soleils side. Her hair matted with dirt. I look towards the doctor, my voice soft but pleading. 

"Please, help my mate. I beg of you," my wolf howls in agony, watching my mate in pain. Doctor Rookwood nods firmly. 

"Yes Alpha. I'll start preparing for the surgery right now," with that he turned on his heel, barking orders left right and center. Baden murmurs about pack business and leaves, the goddess and I standing by Soleils side. 

"Your mate will live, Damira," she replies, black hair swept over her shoulder. I scoff at her, caressing my mates cheek fondly. 

"I know she will. She's stronger than any of us." She didn't reply, my words seeking in into understanding. As we watch and admire my mate, her breathing levels still the same, a flush of magic power ripples around the pack and its village below. Selene, eyes the window, golden symbols glimmering over a globe. The Faeries have cast a protective field around us. 

Its strong, but is it strong enough to hold Hecate off for a while? Before any of us can ask about the magic wall, Doctor Rookwood comes in, his expression emotionless. 

"I'm ready, Alpha King." I kiss my mates forehead, smiling slightly. 

"I'll see you soon, sweetheart,"
