jaemin's gaze followed the two out of the shop, staring sorrowfully at their intertwined hands. their backs faced the heartbroken boy, oblivious of the pain plastered on the robot's face.
with every step they took was every stab to his chest. it was awkward of him for standing in the middle of the cafe but the feeling of grief overwhelmed it all.
before he knew it, his feet subconsciously carried him home whilst salty tears fell one by one down his cheek. his wires stung as the cold seoul breeze chilled his metal interior.
he so desperately wanted to run after jeno and confess to him—let all those mixed feelings he's trapped inside of himself be released to the whole world.
he wanted to replace amy and be the one in the arms of jeno. he wanted to be the only one jeno saw in his eyes and heart.
he wanted to be the one jeno loves.
unfortunately, he turned over his shoulder and regretted instantly when his gaze landed on jeno placing a chaste kiss on amy's lips.
and then the dam fell and the tears spilled like a waterfall.
he quickened his pace and suddenly he was running at full speed out of the cafe and into the busy streets.
he messily wiped his eyes with his sleeves but the tears seemed never ending. people stared at him in confusion as he gripped his hair in frustration and let out a defeated sob.
i need to let him go.

a darkly aura erupted once jaemin unlocked the door of the shared house of jeno's family and him, sending shivers down his spine.
opening the door wider, robotic maids were in view and cleaning shards of alcoholic bottles that were scattered across the wooden floor.
slurred yelling was heard through the closed door of mr.lee's office, and jaemin flinched hearing another bottle smash against the wall.
❝master jaemin, why are you so later? and where is master jeno? we thought he was with you...❞ jaemin turned around and recognized the maid being rheehi, an elderly female robot who worked for the lee residence since jeno was born. she loved the two boys as if they were her own and made sure they were well taken cared of.
