jackie sat criss-crossed as she looked out the window, feeling empty, she had no purpose in life. she was useless to her friends, just being a human, a distraction, someone who was just there.
living in a small town, seeing the same old buildings everyday, seeing the same old people everyday—was boring, in jackie's opinion. she couldn't leave though, it would be selfish. her life is in mystic falls and it always will be. she was born here and she'll die here.
of course, she has the adventure, the supernatural, and honestly it was her favorite thing about life, the adventure—that comes with danger. but she was human, she was weak. she wasn't a vampire or a witch, not even a doppelgänger.
she knew that her friends loved her but she just wasn't good enough. she had always been different from them. she was always just a side person, someone who wasn't important, she always stayed home, or she would go to the mystic grill. other than that it was school. it was the same cycle over and over again, and it was driving her insane.
she hadn't realized the tears that were streaming down her face—which was red and hot. her breathing got heavy before she couldn't breathe at all. she closed her eyes, gripping her hair with both her hands, curling up into a ball.
she turned around, sniffling, when she saw her father. she jolted back in shock, then stood up quickly pushing her weight on the floor. "no, no, no, y-you-you're n-not real." she rubbing her eyes. "aren't i?" he said walking closer.
she shook her head turning back around to look out the window, wiping the tears from her face. she was scared, she didn't know how to comprehend what was happening. "you always cry, when i punished you, when you're mother was being a whore," he got closer with every second that passed. "when i died." he finished off.
"leave me alone!" she cried. "i see your mother is still acting like a slut, like a bitch." he taunted her. "no! she-she's not! she's trying her best." she said softly, looking at the ground. he chuckled deeply, and looked at the back of her head, almost like he was having a conversation with her face to face.
"then why'd you leave huh? why did you abandon your own mother. you are beyond selfish." he tormented her, "you are nothing, compared to elena gilbert, or to caroline forbes, even that damon salvatore." she sobbed as more tears streamed down her face. "she wanted me out, i was just doing what she asked."
"anyone would want you out! you're just a weak little girl in the corner. and you still manage to make everyone hate ya." he scoffed. "i am doing the best i can!" she yelled at him. "it's not good enough," he looked her up and down in disgust.
"jackie?" she heard a voice say. she didn't bother looking, at this point she was curled up in the same position as earlier, and crying, she wondered if she would ever run out of tears. "who are you talking to?" she heard it again. she stood up and turned around, for a second she thought her father was still there, but saw nothing.
"he-he was right there. i saw him!" she hiccuped. she kept looking in that spot,to see nothing there. she then felt strong arms wrap around her and she smelt the familiar scent, damon. "he died, damon." was all she said but he shushed her and hugged her tighter.
she felt relaxed, and indifferent. she felt like she wanted to cry all over again, but just couldn't in damon's arms.
she sighed as she was home alone again, she sketched memories of people, or animals. her left hand glided along the paper as she shaded and erased. she would let her teeth bite into her bottom lip as she tried to focus on what she was creating.
