The day was comfortably warm, a golden haze coating the training field. The breeze was gentle, a certain someone's hero costume fluttering in the wind.

The cloak was covering most of the boy's face but the sun coated features that were visible made Y/n sigh, being so unknowingly stunning had to be some sort of crime.

The class were doing a regular hero training exercise outside, which Y/n didn't mind at all.

Except for the fact that Amajiki was refusing to look at them, completely ignoring they even existed. Just when they'd got him to admit they were friends, they'd gone and sent them another three steps backwards.

Y/n fiddled anxiously with their fingers, not even realising it as they began to spiral into overthinking. Amajiki hadn't seemed particularly upset at the time but he could've just been hiding it as to not hurt their feelings. They knew he had strong boundaries, even from just their first meeting, and now they were afraid they'd accidentally overstepped one.

And to make matters worse, they distantly heard the shout of their teacher that they needed to pair up amongst themselves. Y/n was a confident and warm person but the slightest of things could cause it all to tumble down. And now was one of those times it began to crumble.

Suddenly, Y/n felt a pull on their sleeve, tugging them out of their thoughts. They looked up, their lost eyes finding the raven haired boy shyly clutching their arm. They hadn't even noticed his presence. "We should pair up... if you want to."

Y/n's eyes widened, unable to process what they were hearing. Amajiki was approaching them? It had to be their imagination.

Amajiki's soft indigo eyes fluttered away from their gaze, his adorable pointed ears tinging the cutest shade of pink. His voice was barely a whisper. "W-we are friends after all."

Y/n gaped at him like a fish, reeling from the shot of warmth such small actions shot through their heart.

They grinned gleely. "Of course we can Amajiki!" They winked playfully. "I knew you secretly enjoyed my company all along."

Out of nowhere the teacher called Y/n's name, resulting in them jumping abrubtly. "That's weird, I'll be right back." They gave Amajiki a gentle pat on the head and took off before he could even try to protest.

Nejire squealed loudly, hiding behind her tightly clenched fists as she bounced up and down. "You guys are SOO cute!!" Mirio nodded energetically in agreement, his smirk bright and blinding.

Now was Amajiki's turn to jump, he hadn't even noticed his friends behind him.

"Say where did Y/n go?" Mirio tilted his head quizzingly.

Nejire sprung up, eyes twinkling knowingly. "Oh! Oh! I know! I bet its the support course, they told me they was planning on getting a new addition to their hero costume! You know how they have a airborne quirk? Well they got the CUTEST thing ever added, you're going to absolutely love it Tamaki!!"

Tamaki was about to ask why when he noticed both his friends were looking upwards, towards the sky in awe. Instinctively he turned and followed their gazes.

And at the sight of you, his jaw dropped.

Butterfly wings. The addition was butterfly wings.

Amajiki had to stop and stare. There was a pair of almost translucent butterfly wings on your back, that caught the light just right. He knew the wings were designed with practicality in mind and not just aesthetic but he couldn't help it. Flying above, you looked like the most beautiful butterfly he had ever seen.

While Amajiki was lost in a daze, much to his friends' amusement, you landed neatly nearby and hurried over. You walked up to Tamaki, trying to catch his lost eyes. "Well, Amajiki, what do you think? Prefer the costume now or before?"

Refocusing at the sound of your voice, Amajiki realised you were a lot closer than he thought. The boy shrieked and jerked away. His eyes darted around wildly and a hand quickly moved to cover his mouth. Not quick enough to hide his furiously rising blush however.

"Uh... the butterfly. I-it suits you."

"Of course you'd say that!" Nejire and Mirio said simultaneously as you giggled. Amajiki chuckled under his breath, resulting in your brain melting into lovestruck goop.

Maybe promising to be his friend wasn't the best idea. Not when he was as cute as this.
