CHAPTER 2

Dumaan ang linggo na puro orientation at introduction ang nangyari, at pati na rin mga activities para mas makilala pa namin ang isa’t isa. Ngayon ay 2nd week na ng pasukan at ngayon na rin magsisimula ang formal na klase. Kailangan ko na ihanda yung sarili ko lalo na yung utak ko.

Pero meron ba ako nun?

Natawa nalang din ako sa sariling naisip. Nandito na ako sa room ngayon, sinadya kong agahan since formal classes na nga. Magkasabay din kaming pumasok ni Spade pero di na ako nagpahatid dito sa room ko dahil magkaiba naman kami ng building at baka ma-late pa siya sa klase niya. Okay lang nung first week dahil di pa naman nagsimula yung klase talaga eh.

“Good morning, Yesha.” bati ni Kiellla sa’kin.

“Good morning.” ngumiti ako sa kaniya.

“Uhm. Si Austin? Wala pa ba?” tingin niya sa upuan nito.

“Hmm. Ewan ko nga eh. Tinext ko na, di naman nagrereply. Baka tulog pa yun.”

Natawa naman siya sa sinabi ko. Nagchikahan nalang kami ni Kiella habang inaantay yung prof namin.

“Ikaw, may boyfriend ka ba? Is it Dylan?”

“Hmm.” nag-isip pa kunwari siya.

“Yes, I love Dylan… so much!” sinabi niya ‘yon na para bang ganon nalang niya tinitreasure ito.

“But－”

Hindi na naituloy ni Kiella yung sasabihin niya kasi dumating na yung prof namin. At hanggang ngayon ay wala parin si Austin. Asan na ba yun?

Tatawagan ko na sana siya nang bigla ay dumating ito at inis na nilagay ang bag niya sa table nito. Napatingin naman kami ni Kiella sa kaniya.

“Tsk. Late lang ako nagising, okay? Nakakabadtrip.”

Sinabi niya yun na parang sinasagot ang tanong sa utak namin ni Kiella. Nagkibit balikat nalang ako kay Kiella.

“At the end of today’s lesson, you should be able to:
A. Define anatomy and describe the levels at which anatomy can be studied.
B. Define physiology and describe the levels at which physiology can be studied.
C. Explain the importance of the relationship between structure and function”

“But first let me ask you. For you, what is anatomy and what is physiology?”

Yun palang ang tanong ni prof pero kabadong kabado nako kahit wala naman siyang itinuro kung sino ang sasagot.

“Hmm, miss Silva, would you mind if I ask you?”

Literal na namilog ang mga mata ko. Ilang beses pakong napalunok bago tumayo. Kinakabahan ako lalo na at wala akong maisip na sagot.

“A-ah. Anatomy is…” huminga muna ako nang malalim bago nagpatuloy.

“Anatomy is the scientific discipline that investigates the body’s structures—for example, the shape and size of bones. In addition, anatomy examines the relationship between the structure of a body part and its function. Understanding the relationship between structure and function makes it easier to understand and appreciate anatomy.”
