Changes aren't for better or for worse; they're for the sake of something new.

He could feel eyes on him. Again.

Jordan Parrish raised his head and searched for the dark haired girl's glance. Again, she was in a deep conversation with her blonde friend. She pulled a funny face, and while her friend had the privilege to laugh aloud, he could only smile. She, laughing as well, turned to Jordan, catching his glance and smile. She nodded slightly at him, turning back to West.

Mission accomplished, Kai thought to herself.

The Sheriff left his office just then, pausing as he saw Kai and West.

"The two of you are still here?" he wondered, "I was sure your parents came already."

"Well, my mom is reading Fifty Shades of Gray, so it is possible." Kai mused, making West, Sheriff, and Jordan (that heard her due to the silence in the station, as well as her voice being loud and firm when she wasn't trying to be quiet) look at her strangely, before West laughed, encouraging the other two that it was meant to be funny.

Only it wasn't.

"Why are you laughing? It scarred me for life." Kai stated, confused.

"Your misery is my happiness," West announced, smiling widely at her. Kai punched his arm, "ow! You know, Sid at least knew how to make you behave." To which he was rewarded with another punch. Jordan went back to his paper-work.

"Stop bringing him up!" she whined.

West stayed silent. He had no joke to tell, and Kai didn't look at him. Sheriff glanced between the two friends.

"Did you and Sid ever started dating?" he questioned, remembering the glances they used to exchange.

"No," West replied for her just as she said "yes."

"Wait, what?" West wondered.

"Well, sort of," she shrugged, rubbing the back of her head. "I mean, if he didn't die that night I am pretty sure that something would actually start."

"Wait, what?" West repeated.

"Remember when you barged into the motel room, drunk out of your ass the day before?" West nodded, "you came a moment after we snogged for like, an hour."

"That's why you acted so weird that day!" West hit his head, feeling stupid for not connecting the dots until now. "Holy shit. The stupidity burns a hole in my soul."

"Poetic shit," Kai stated.

"Yeah, maybe we should trade spots."

"Maybe we should."

"I bet I can write better lyrics than yours."

Kai and West stared at each other for a second before a bubble of laughter burst through their lips. The Sheriff gave a short glance at Parrish, who shrugged, and then he went on to look at the clock. It was nearing morning.

"Hey," he turned back to Jordan, "when are you off?"

"Just now," Jordan replied, "I am waiting for someone to come instead."

"Mind taking them home before you go? I have a Stiles Situation."

"Harry Styles?" West wondered.

"What?" Sheriff asked.

"From... One Direction..." he trailed off as Jordan signaled him to drop it. "Never- mind. Just, can we go home already?"

"Your parents didn't call?"
