Author's Note:

Hey, reader!
I just wanted to start off with a THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for reading this story. I've always enjoyed writing and used to have an account on wattpad when I was a lot younger, and accumulated hundreds of thousands of views and votes on my stories, but ended up deleting them all and deleting the app altogether due to some not so nice kids at school who would pick on me for the things I wrote. However, I am now an adult and decided I'd like to partake in something I enjoy again. I really hope you enjoy wherever this story leads!
Us Luci lovers riddled with daddy issues and *cough* ~questionable fantasies~ need to stick together 😌
Also I must apologise for if I go in and out of past tense and present tense, I'm so bad at keeping track but I'll try my best to stick to one 😅

What the f*ck.

I could not believe that just happened. Was it a prank? My head was still reeling from the lack of oxygen my brain received in that short five minute call.

Surely I shouldn't go right? I mean, this sounded insanely dangerous, even more so since the man on the phone was, with logical assumption, a demon. The only thing I was sure of in that moment is that I wasn't going to be telling anybody. I'd much rather go to the library, see for myself that this was all a prank and come back home unscathed, but more importantly, keep this to myself in order for my family and friends to stay unharmed also.

Okay, I had made my decision. Let's just get this over with.

I took a five minute shower, shoved some clothes on my body and was out the door faster than I would take to even get out of bed most days. My legs were moving independently at rapid speed. It was as if I were a robot being controlled by some bigger force, and the only thing that was truly mine to control was my mind, throwing around thought after thought about what this person could be capable of. Was he powerful enough to do anything if I got the brothers involved? I mean surely not, right? But I didn't want to risk it even then. If I just did what he told me maybe I would be fine.

Before I knew it I was approaching the run-down library on Fifth Avenue, I had been here only a handful of times when I needed to for school, otherwise I'd always steer clear. It was creepy. It looked as if the only purpose of it was for witches and mythical beings to hide dark secrets inside, and they were threatening to burst out of the creaky, fragile windows at any moment; there was always dark energy looming behind the doors. It's probably just me being the superstitious, spoopy-doopy-loving spiritual nerd I always had been, though.

I pushed open the heavy door and slipped inside. It smelled like moth balls and dust in here. I scurried past the librarian's desk, shyly nodding my head at the short, measly woman with a mound of grey curls atop her head and small round glasses that were thicker than the longest novel ever written. She nodded back. It was rare to see me so mousy and withdrawn as a person. I've been told countless times that I'm often too bubbly and outgoing, sometimes getting me into some trouble. I guess it was just the situation at hand that had me shrivel into my shell like a frightened little turtle. I found a table near the back of the room and sat down, suddenly starting to feel the nerves creeping up from my stomach into my throat, causing me to feel much more paranoid than I even knew I was capable of being. I made sure I was backed into the corner of the room so that nobody could sneak up on me, and I waited.
And waited.
And waited.

I was beginning to think this must just be a little game some demon from RAD had conjured up, they wanted a bit of fun and decided to pick on the little weak human exchange student from last year for a few laughs. Come to think of it, what if the boys were involved? This wasn't the first time they would have pranked me with a horror-themed sequence of events. I recall the day when everyone who lived in the House of Lamentation started to go missing one by one, until it was just Lucifer and me left to solve the puzzle. I could feel my cheeks tint pink as I remembered what we were required to do to end the game.
'There are a number of conditions that must be satisfied. But if you can manage to do it, you'll be treated to a romantic ending where you and Lucifer actually fall in love!'
I remember my gaze falling from Lucifer's as he read those words aloud, I fought my natural bodily instinct for my cheeks to flush a bright crimson before I returned my eyes and fixed them back to his. For a moment, I could've sworn I'd seen a flicker of some foreign emotion glimmer in his eyes before they went cold again. He scoffed.
"Oh, come on!" He sighed...

In an instant I'm snapped back to reality as a hand lightly presses on my shoulder. Sh*t.

"Are you okay, love?" The librarian questioned, a look of concern etched into her soft, wrinkled features.

"Y-yes, I'm fine. Sorry." I exclaimed, looking down at my phone to check the time. What?! Surely that's impossible... I've been sat here for twenty minutes with my head in the clouds.

"Alright, do you need anything? I can get you a drink if you're not feeling well?" She says kindly.

"That would be lovely." I murmured, slightly embarrassed that she had seen me completely away with the fairies. I bet I looked like a gawking idiot.

I watched her shuffling away back in the direction of the front desk, and return a few minutes later with a mug of tea.

"Thank you so much!" I chimed. It just dawned on me how thirsty I was, I hadn't the chance to eat or drink yet today. I put the mug to my lips and took a sip.

"No problem." She paused in thought, watching me for a second, before turning and leaving me alone once again.

Shouldn't be long now. If nobody shows up within the next ten minutes I'll assume this was all some practical joke and I'll get on with my plans for the day. I took a few more sips of the soothing liquid and began tapping a tune on the side of the mug.

*clink, clink, clink*
*clink* ... *clink* ...

My eyelids suddenly felt as if a ton of bricks were weighing them down. My heart was racing, but my body would not co-operate with the thoughts in my mind.

"Run! Get out of here, MC, what the hell are you doing?!" I yelled to myself inside my head but I could not move.

My vision began blurring, the room spun around me and I slumped out of my seat onto the cold, hardwood floor, the ceiling above dancing and twisting left and right.

A dark figure loomed in my peripheral vision, and came closer until it was standing right above me, I could make out no features, my senses were failing me as I fought to grasp consciousness.

I felt a cold hand gently grab and squeeze my face. Analyzing me.

Then everything went black.
