I'm falling.

I'm falling, what feels like hundreds of miles an hour, into darkness. Plummeting deeper and deeper. I can't tell if this is real or if I'm dreaming. It feels like my eyes are open and I am looking around through this portal of night, stars and constellations form and disappear above me. But I don't feel fear. Suddenly, a smooth, soft, familiar voice coaxes me away from my train of thought.

"MC, wake up. You have to wake up."

"L-Lucifer?"

...

Out of nowhere, I'm jolted awake by something throwing me across where I lay, smashing my head on whatever was next to me. Ouch. My eyes adjusted to the dim lighting and I started to look around.
I'm in a car. I had been thrown across the backseat when we hit a speed bump and knocked my head on the door. I struggled to pull myself up into a seated position. My head was pounding.

I glanced forward at the wing mirror, suddenly hyper aware that I was in a vehicle with someone driving me away from the city. The man driving was staring right back, but when he noticed me looking at him he averted his eyes back to the road. I looked out the window and noticed the road we were on is completely unfamiliar. Almost unnatural, like something out of a movie. There were black bricks lined up creating walls down either side of the road, and nothing indicated where we were headed in the distance. Just more road, a long, winding black road. Wait, it's dark out already? How long was I out for?!

I was too scared to speak. I knew my voice would catch in my throat having not spoken for a while and being unconscious for however long. I didn't want to sound scared, and I especially didn't want to sound weak. But I must try. I'm being kidnapped.

"Where are we going?" I blurted out.

The driver jumped a little in his seat and looked in his front mirror at me, surprised by my sudden question. He composed himself quickly and placed his eyes back on the road. I sighed loudly. Clearly he's been told to not talk to the kidnapped girl he's an accomplice in taking. I knew this wasn't the man from the library who stood over me before I lost consciousness. That man was tall, slender, had cold, large hands, smelt vaguely of cigarettes... This man driving me to my ultimate doom was short, stout, balding, definitely middle-aged. He wore a navy suit that fit him strangely, with a silver watch on his left wrist.

I squinted at his wrist trying to make out the time bit it was useless. Damn my awful eyesight.

I sunk back into the seat, subconsciously grappling for the seatbelt and yanking it around my body. Tears pricked in my eyes as it clicked into place. The irony of putting on a seatbelt in this situation. Am I seriously going to die? Am I going to survive this? Where are they f*cking taking me?!

A buzz from my pocket made me jump and tense up. My phone? I reach for it, scrambling to see who was calling me. Why would they let me keep my phone? Surely they wouldn't have left me with it when I could call the police...

Oh. It's my D.D.D? I could've sworn I'd left it at home.

'Z is calling you...' He put his contact in my D.D.D? I answer without another split second of thought.

"Z?" I said in a frustrated tone.

"Ahh, MC. You're awake. Good." The familiar voice of the stalker creeps into my ear, sending chills up and down my back.

"What do you want from me? Where am I going?!" I seethed, with a newfound anger boiling up inside me. I knew I had better be careful, this is a delicate situation. But I was just so angry. He snatched me from my life and I have no idea why.

"Calm down, firecracker. Aren't you supposed to be saying 'thank you?', after all, I am sending you to pay a visit to your little friends." He exclaimed. He's so cocky it hurts.

"My little friends?"

"You're going to the House of Lamentation to see your favourite demons. Call them now and let them know you're on your way. I'm sure they'll be nothing but ecstatic to hear about your impending arrival."

And with that, the phone clicked off.

He's sending me to the Devildom? I don't know what his plan is, but it squeezes my stomach into a thousand knots all the more knowing that it's something to do with the brothers.

Just then, a chat comes through.

Z: I must add that I have left you a piece of equipment that you will be using throughout this ordeal.

Z: It's an invisible earpiece. Look in the compartment behind the driver's seat. Put it to use immediately.

Z: I will be wiping these messages from your device shortly. Now, call them. Promptly, please, MC.

I scoffed and threw my D.D.D down next to me. Leaning forward I could see a small pocket behind the driver's seat, I dug out a small piece of rubbery plastic that I examined closely. Looks like a jelly bean to me. Beel would have gulped it down already, it wouldn't have even touched the sides. I giggled to myself at the thought and awkwardly dug the small thing into my left ear. It was surprisingly comfortable.

Picking back up my phone I scrolled through my contacts. Who should I call? I need to sound convincing enough that there is nothing going on. I desperately don't want anyone to get hurt.

I scrolled down to a name I knew wouldn't be smart enough to question the reasons for a visit. Mammon.
If I told him I wanted to see him because I missed him he'd be beaming. "MC missed me the most, I told ya! She couldn't stay away from the Great Mammon!" Ego boost times a hundred. I smiled to myself thinking of his cheesy grin.

A sudden pang of excitement flushed over me. Is that bad?

I held my D.D.D to my ear, and after two rings Mammon's goofy chatter filled my ears.

"Heyyyy MC! Why ya callin' huh? Ya miss me that much already? We just spoke this mornin'!"

Okay. That gives me an indication that it's the same day. So I haven't missed too much. Nobody should be worried about my whereabouts just yet.

"Hey Mammon! Speaking of missing you... I actually have a surprise."

"Surprise? C'mon, tell me!"

"I'm on my way to the Devildom to visit you all... Right now... Surprise!"
