"What do you mean, Annie Coy?" I am asked.
"If their out of sight, we’re out of time." I fire my 3DMG and shoot onto the top of a building. I can’t see any nearby. Something has gone really wrong.
"Annie!" I spot my plum haired friend running toward me, waving.
"Zada!" I embrace her. "What’s wrong? Is Carley okay?"
"Carley’s fine." Zada giggles. "Brad’s with her. We’re trying to work out what the titans are doing. They’re showing signs of intelligence again. They’re all flocking to one area, the middle of the ocean."
"Is that where they went?" I query.
"I was hoping you had an idea why." Zada looks desperate.
"Ideas?" I query. "Mum just died."
"Oh Annie! Re you okay? I’m sorry! Do you need a minute?" I shake my head.
"She talked about OSOT." I mutter.
"OSOT?" Zada is clearly doubting me.
"Oi, Durc Wolfgang, tell Za’ what Mum said before she died!" I command.
"She told us to ‘follow the pigeons’ whatever that means."
"Does that mean traitors gate and London Bridge and the Tower of London and ice skating, or does she mean the books or the actual Gallagher Academy?" Zada looks scared.
"I think she means the books or London… not the reference building. Like she would know that that existed." I scoff.
"We have to pass on the messages!" Zada declares.
"You do it." I instruct. "Stay safe, Za’."
"W-w-why don’t you want to come with me?" I am asked.
"I have a theory. I don’t want to go all out if it’s just an idea." I smile softly.
"Zad’!" Carley waves at us, she’s dragging Brad along with her.
"Car’!" Zada exclaims. "Since we’re all here, I am voulenteering our services."
"Naff off." I give her a shove.
"I really don’t think going for an idea half assed is a good idea." Brad shakes his head.
"I don’t want to win this game if I can’t play it my way." I wink at them.
"High School Musical, our fatal flaw. I trust you Annie, go all out." Zada holds her hand up. I high five her.
"You’re strong, Za’. I’ll give it all I’ve got. I know you’ll do the same." I encourage.
"Thanks Annie." Zada beams.
"Carley, please don’t follow me either." I shake my head sadly as the pinkette takes a step forward.
"You’re being too brave. You can’t do this. Not on your own. You twonk." Carley flicks me in the head.
"Seriously, a twonk?" Brad scoffs.
"You can do this Carley, help us make all of this right!"
I take a step to the edge.
"Oh! HOLD UP!" Brad grabs my hand.
"Stop it Brad. You and I both know that you’re a cocky shit. But honestly, I trust your cockiness. Brad, your overconfidence gives me strength. You’re stronger than your ego gives you credit for. Remember that."
"You sound like you’re never intending on coming back." Zada grabs my arm. I sigh.
"Let’s just prove your hunch wrong, Annie Coy. C’mon." Durc takes Zada’s hand and unclasps her fingers so I can go. I jump off of the roof and fire my 3DMG to progress toward the ocean.
