April

On the ride to my place, I couldn't help but think about the stupid video.

"Are you okay?" Jordan said as he pulled over on my driveway. "You've been quiet"

"Hmm hmm, I'm good" I faked a smile, unbuckling my seatbelt. "I'll see you"

"Wait" he pulled me back to sit with his hand. "Want to tell me what's wrong the easy way or the hard way?"

"What's the hard way?" I cleared my throat.

"Fuck you naked in public right now and don't test me because I can actually do it"

"You have no shame whatsoever do you?"

"I don't. What's wrong? Is it about the news? I can assure you it's been taken care of and I respect your decision to keep us a secret from the outside world..."

"It's not that Jordan." I stare at nothing in particular on the ground. Jordan lifts my face up to meet his with a finger.

What would Jordan think of me if I told him about the tape?  I was so close to telling him the truth but I couldn't.

"I'm just berserk over the whole thing with us that's all. It's surreal"

Jordan leaned close and connected his lips with mine for a passionate kiss.

"I love you too tease" he pulled away

"But I didn't say..."

"Oh I know you do April."

"Drive safe" I alight from the car and watched him drive off.

I brought out my phone to text Sean the address to meet up in the evening. This madness ends today.

I slouched on my couch to Facetime Megan and Vanessa. Deep down I was nervous but in all honesty, I knew I had to come clean to my friends about Jordan. It felt important to have them accept Jordan in my life regardless of the perception they have about him.

Megan picked first and Vanessa picked almost immediately.

"Hey guys," I said lazily.

"I'm sorry about how I reacted earlier April, I just don't want you to get hurt," Vanessa said.

"We were so in the middle of how we felt and cared less about how you were feeling. It wasn't fair to lash out on you like that." She added.

"I know you guys have my best interest at heart but I like Jordan and I want you guys to respect and support my decision regardless of your opinion about him. If he's bad for me which I doubt, I want to learn that lesson on my own"

"We respect that honey, we do. It's just that after everything that's happened with you especially with Luke, we just don't want you to go down that road again" Megan said.

"But you guys been the ones telling me to give it another chance" I smiled.

"With Sean!" Megan exclaimed.

"Sean recorded a fucking sex tape of the both of us without my knowledge and now he's threatened to release it if I don't dump Jordan and come to him. Sean, whom you guys believe to be good for me is the worst"

"OMG, that douche bag had the effrontery," Megan said with her palm over her mouth.

"Is Jordan aware?"

"No, I can't bring myself to tell him about it. We're just beginning our relationship to be faced with such a dilemma" I buried my head in my palm as I heaved a sigh.

"I'll talk to him" Vanessa offered.

"No, I'll handle it. How's your honeymoon going?" I asked

"It's a dream come through. Jason's just perfect for me"

Megan and I aww-ed.

"I'm pregnant" Vanessa announced in a whispered.

"Holy moly, we've got a Jason or Vanessa junior coming!!!!" Meagan screamed.

We all laughed.

"Shit, I gotta go. Got a sexmergency to attend to and April, I'm happy for you too but be careful. Trust me to call you for the the full deets later"  she hung up.

"Why do I feel like it's someone we both know?" I said.

"Broody," we said in unison.

Vanessa and I giggled and the rest of the conversation was about her detailed fun in the Bahamas.

I checked the time on my wrist to see it was eight already. I have been waiting for Sean to show up since six and also tried calling him but he didn't pick. I was already impatient and frustrated.

Is he playing with me right now?

I decided to call him one more time before giving up and yet, he didn't pick.

I dropped my car keys on the nearest table and strolled into the kitchen for juice. I made a mental note to call Jordan after having the drink. I was about to set the jug on the kitchen countertop when I heard my doorbell ring.

"I'm coming!" I screamed as I made my way to the living room.

"Tell me April, do you see me as a joke?" Jordan said with a straight face.

"What?" I asked confusingly as I shut the door after inviting him in.

"Did you not understand when I said you're mine? It means all your troubles and worries are mine too so I'll ask you one last time April. What the fuck are you hiding from me?"

I bit my lower lip as I analyzed the crossroad I'm stuck inbetween. 
Is he aware of Sean? We left things on the cool earlier today so what changed?

"I'm not hiding anything. What are you talking about?"

"Darn it April, stop lying to my face. If you can't trust me enough to tell me about matters like this how are we going to work?"

"I don't...."

"If you deny it one more time April, "

"I don't know okay? I don't know what you're talking about and I am not hiding anything from you."

"I know about the tape April and the fact that you don't find me worthy of being a confidant is what bothers me." On that note, he left me alone in the middle of my living room.

A message from him came in a few seconds later. I sat on the nearest couch as I scan his words.

*I already took care of it. You won't be hearing from that halfwit again.  I meant it when I said I love you. Your stubborn attitude is driving me nuts but it's one of the things I love about you you tease. I'll be waiting when you're ready to let me in. I love you April Denver and don't ever lie to me again. Good night *

I heard his car drive off after reading the text.
