Easy to spot. The rebel in the corner. The beauty queen up front. The nerd looking down at a book. A jock in the hall ditching again.

Liars pretending.

The rebel wouldn't look anyone in the eye. She's afraid of the dark. She wished she was brave enough to escape her mother's hateful eyes and her father's deceptive tongue. She pretends she doesn't like people to keep them away. She does everything right behind the scenes.

The beauty queen takes off her wrap around her stomach that hides her swollen belly and her padded bra that makes her feel protected in life. The yelling can be heard everywhere in the house. It ricochets off the walls. Echoing in her ears. She takes off her makeup that covers up her flawed face. She cries knowing that she's nothing.

The nerd zones out into nothing. The book is just a decoy. Protecting him from being found out. The grades all fashioned with a parade of Fs. The world not seeing his mind that moves too fast for the world he has to live in. Silence isn't an option in his mind. They pretend to like him for answers that he doesn't have. He is nothing like his sister. The beautiful angel she was to everyone. He'll never be her.

The jock runs home his blood pumping. He pushes past his limits. He runs into the house. Everything is still. Too still. He runs looking for her. He finds her. Water surrounding her delicate features. She was in a weird peaceful state. A slight smile on her face. He pulled her out disrupting her peace. He helps purge the evil that stood to claim her. Then he takes her to get help. Just another Wednesday for him.
