It's been so long.

"(Y/N)!"

How long has it been again?

"Oh my god, (y/n), what did you do?"

It's just a memory now it seems.

"I- I didn't mean to! I swear!"

A memory that you wish you could forget.

"(Y/N?) (Y/N)!" a voice yelled, snapping you out of your trance like state.
"Hm, what?" you wonder, eyes searching the school yard to find who called you.

A tall young man, who had to be at least 18 years old stood in front of you.
His dark brown eyes studied you gently, worry lines appearing on his forehead.
"(Y/N), are you alright? You seem out of it today.."

"Louis? Uh, yeah. Yeah, I'm fine." You trail off, looking towards the ground. He walks up to the picnic table you're sitting at and sits on the bench across from you, "was my charming looks too distracting for you?" Louis smirked jokingly.
"Pfft. Charming?" You tauntingly question.

"Well I would prefer dashing, stunning, or even handsome, but yeah, charming."
You both share a smile with each other, and you take the chance to stop and appreciate the freckles on his face, and the way the evening sun hit his tan skin just right made him look angelic.
You suddenly remembered you were kinda just staring at him and blinked back to reality.

"I was just thinking about everything before all," you wave your hands around, "this." You slouched on the table, propping your face up with your hand.
Louis looked at you solemnly, "Before Ericson or?"

"Yeah," you sigh, "and I guess before the whole zombie thing. There's just so much I regret. There's just so much that haunts me."

His gaze shifts uncomfortably as he moves to stand up, "Well, you know what cheers me up?"

"Annoying me?"

"I mean, yeah, but that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about playing cards."

You groan, "Oh man," you start to stand up too, "I think this is my cue to go to my room."
Louise chuckled at your tease. He could tell you were feeling reminiscent and upset, so he waved goodbye and watched you go inside.

You step foot into your dorm and let the door shut behind you. A big sigh escaped from your chest and you take your shoes off. Your toes wiggle against the soft rug beneath them as you begin walking towards your dresser and open the top drawer.
Inside lies an old scrapbook that you've had since you were a kid. Grabbing it you begin to flip through the pages, reminiscing the older days. There was a picture of you when you were 10, when you first arrived.
Louis had actually taken as a way to welcome you.

You snorted at the sight of your awkward toothy smile. Your brows were raised with confusion, and you weren't even posing. You just stood there, which made it even more laughable.

The picture beneath of that was everybody at the school, even staff.
You smiled at the memory, but quickly frowned as you realized how small your group dwindled to over the years. Flipping the page you come across a small heart shaped photo, something from a locket, of you and your mother.
"Mom.." a small whisper came from your lips. The longer you looked at the photo the more sad you felt. Soon enough tears started slipping down your cheek and plopped onto the plastic casing of photos below.
Closing the book you begin to sob. You tossed the photo book to the floor and buried your face into your pillow, muffling your cries.
