"Finally!" Mitch exclaimed as you had walked up to the gate that lead to the greenhouse.

You stick your tongue out at him as a response, making him scoff.

"What took you so long?"

"I was just talking to Louis, Mitch. Hop off my dick." You demand scornfully, taking a hostile step closer to him.

He let out hearty laugh, "is she serious?" He asked the others, "you know who's dick you need to hop off of-"

"Now, now, y'all!" Ruby butts in, "we've got work to do. We don't have time for this nonsense." Her voice was calm, but stern. She gave you a look that said, 'don't make me tell you again.'

Your ears grew hot from anger and embarrassment. You reminded yourself to thank her later for stepping in.

Clementine's brows stitch together as she shifts her eyes between the two of you, "do they always argue?" She asked Ruby.

"Only when she annoys me," Mitch overheard, "which is about everyday."

"Go suck a wet one." You reply, unamused.

"Shush." Ruby scolds again, only this time more warningly. You and Mitch give each other a nod, signaling a truce.

For now.

"Truth is, she's like an annoying younger sibling. We do care for each other, we just hardly express it."

"Nor want to." You half joke.

Once everyone was ready, the four of you enter the gate. You felt a wave of nostalgia hit you when you saw the old, beat-up greenhouse that once flourished in color and crops.
But now it's surrounded by unruly grass, giving off an eerie vibe.

"I didn't realize how long it's been," you notice, feeling the chipped paint on the wooden wall, "it's changed so much."
You stare solemnly at the broken windows that have been boarded up with shingles and random two-by-fours. Broken glass lays beneath your feet, crunching with every step.

Ruby walks up to the door and tries to open it, but fails. It appears to be locked.

Mitch sighs disappointedly, "this ain't budging."

"You gonna stand there sulking all day, or are ya gonna do something useful?" Ruby demanded.
He brushes her off with a wave of his hand and stares at the stuck door.

"We need that barb wire," Clementine walks up to you three, joining in on the conversation, "there must be another way in."

Mitch stomps away to the side of the house, and Clementine curiously watched.

You and Ruby stayed up front, just reminiscing the old days.

"You guys okay?" Clementine asked, pulling you out of your thoughts.

"We haven't been back here in a looong time." You tell her.

Ruby hums an agreement, "I used to love coming here. But now it's just so overgrown." She takes a look at the weeds and vines that grew over everything. "I'll be fine. Let's just find a way in." She flashed a comforting grin.

You walk around to the side of the house, going to take a gander on the inside but the window was too foggy, "damn. I can't see shit." You mutter.

"Yeah, there's too much condensation on the inside." Mitch tells you.

Ruby pokes her head around the corner, "condensation? That's a big word for you." She teased.
