Kody began to stir in his sleep. Something was tickling his nose, something soft. It began to bother him. Hazily, he slowly began to open his eyes. As he adjusted to the light he noticed something white and fluffy next to him. Something wasn't right.
The green eyed boy lazily sat up. His eyes focused on the figure next to him and his brain began to put the pieces together. This warm fluffy thing was Lumine.
Kody feels his face heat up slightly as he tries to remember what happened the other day. It was then he rubbed his hands on his face in embarrassment. It was him who invited his wolf friend to stay the night. Not only that but his brain remained himself of all the childish things he said and done.
That's just great. He thought to himself. This little situation made him panic ever so slightly but something inside of him was happy. Despite being embarrassed and fully aware of the consequences, Kody decided to stay with the warmth Lumine provided. At least for a little while longer.
He then closed his eyes and fell into a peaceful sleep once more.
....
He was shaken awake.
Green eyes met blue ones. Kody once again had trouble staying awake, as part of his mind was still asleep.
"H-hey Kody..? Could you let me go please?" The voice next to him whispered.
"Five more minutes.." Kody grumbled, still not completely awake.
Lumine released a flustered smile. "Ah, but Kody I need to get up." The wolf boy explained.
Kody frowned before realizing the situation. He quickly let go of his hold on Lumine and sat up. His face began to burn up and Lumine's cheeks dusted in a nice shade of pink.
"I-I um...didn't mean to be like that." The witch boy stammered.
Lumine laughed awkwardly. "Don't worry about it, you 're still sleepy that's all...so um...are you feeling any better today?" The boy asked, changing the subject.
Kody sighed. "I guess so, I don't feel as sick as before." He said, staring at his hands.
"That's good at least. Do you want anything to eat?" Lumine asked.
Kody hummed in response. "I was planning on getting my own food today. I'm tired of staying in bed."
Lumine giggled. "Yeah, it's probably best for you to move around now. Anyways, I'm going to tell Aiden you're feeling better." The wolf boy then began to sit up when he was stopped by a warm hand. He turned around slightly confused by the green eyed boy's actions. "Is there something wrong Kody?"
Said boy took a moment to collect his thoughts before turning to the boy in front of him. "I just wanted to say thanks for...you know, taking care of me and...sorry for the trouble I caused." Kody mumbled.
Lumine blinked. Did his moody friend seriously just thanked him?!
The wolf boy beamed. "It was no problem really! It's my job but not only that, I wanted to do it."
Kody felt his heart speed up and he let go of Lumine's hand. Why did he say that so casually, it's quite embarrassing.
Turning his head to the side he mumbled, "Whatever, don't take it to seriously."
The wolf boy nodded but smiled happily, making his way out of Kody's room. The witch boy took that moment to try to collect himself. This was all so new to him, all the mixed up feelings that swirled around his chest made it hard for him to think properly. He knew what he feels for Lumine was more than friendship, so it made it hard for him to control himself. The witch boy brushed a hand through his dark hair and sighed. He needed to get the wolf boy to himself...he just didn't know how. Lumine might be the death of him.
