{Ch.8} The Cold Part 2

Lumine's Pov

Sleep. All I needed was sleep, and yet I couldn't get any. It's been 5 days since Kody has gotten his cold and things didn't seem to get any better. At first it started out fine, a few sneezes and coughs. However, since day 3 he has been acting weird, getting random mood swings and refusing to take any sort of help from anyone...well besides me. Aiden says he acts like a child when he's sick, so it was normal but he was quite a handful.

I sat silently beside him resting my head on his bed. I watched as his chest slowly raised before falling back down. From time to time he'd stir in his sleep or he'd let out a cough or two. Though he's childish when he's sick, it was nice being able to watch him sleep. It was like looking at a peaceful side of him, not to mention he looked kinda...cute? I honestly didn't know.

Letting out a yawn I closed my eyes and waited for sleep to overtake me. It wasn't too long before I fell into a blissful sleep.

My eyes opened and I came face to face with green. Startled I let out a yap and fell on to the ground beneath me.

"Ow...Good morning Kody. How long have you been awake?" I asked.

He looked down at me and shrugged. "Woke up a few hours ago. I couldn't get back to sleep so I decided to watch you instead." Kody said with a cheeky grin.

I stared at him in awe at his smile and I could feel my face heat up a bit. The green eyed boy stopped smiling once he noticed my expression. "Are you sick now too? Your face is red." He said, placing a hand on my forehead.

Flustered I grabbed a hold of his hand and moved it away. "N-no I'm not sick, just a little surprised is all." I say.

He gives me a confused look but doesn't question it. Instead he comes closer to me with a weird look in his eyes. He learns over me and whispers, "Can you get me something to eat instead of soup? I'm tired of eating it all the time."

His voice was lower than usual and his breath tickled the hair on my neck. I can feel my breath quicken as I quickly push him away from me. He looked a bit startled by my actions and frowns.

"But Lumine...I'm hungry! I want something sweet!" He said talking like a child.

I grab my heart and take a moment to breath. "You can't have anything s-sweet! You need to eat something healthy." I said shakily.

He sighs. "Fine. Just don't get me anything liquidy. One day I'll die from soup." Kody states somewhat dramatically yet normal.

I nod and quickly rushed out of the room. What's going on? I question myself. Why is my heart beating so fast?

Red faced, I made my way down the stairs into the kitchen. There I found Silver leaning on the kitchen counter. The blue haired male smiled before his face melted into a frown.

"Hey Lumine, why so red in the face?" He asked.

"O-oh I'm just a little flustered! I came down to get Kody something to eat." I replied sheepishly.

"I see...I can make some soup ready for him if you want?" Silver suggested.

"Actually Kody wants something else that doesn't 'kill him'." I say standing next to the man.

"Heh, classic Kody. I guess I could try to make something else, wanna help?"

Excitement bubbled in my stomach and I smiled happily. This was one of the first times I got to cook for anyone. Silver went to grab some ingredients for pancakes while I got a mixing bowl and a pan. Mixing pancake mix and water together, we were slowly making progress. Next we began to cook the batter making nice round circles.
