[Kody's Pov]

Cold air brushed against my face as I stepped out into the front porch. I watched as my breath puffed into the air, like a cloud, before quickly disappearing. Stuffing my hands into my pockets I began walking away from my house, towards the town that went past the forest.

It's been a few weeks since the incident with me and Lumine. Lately, he's been hanging around Elijah a bit more than usual. I couldn't help but feel upset about that, though I can't blame him. Ever since the incident, things didn't go back to normal, and I could only blame myself for that.

-----------

"Kody..?" Lumine asked nervously.

"Lumine..." I barely wispier looking at the albino male. "What do you want?" I asked reluctantly.

He showed off a sad smile and looked at me with guilty eyes. "I just wanted to see if you were okay...I was really worried about you." He paused. "I'm sorry for leaving you, Kody. I should've looked for you and I shouldn't have left you with Elijah. I didn't know you felt that way Kody. I won't leave you like that again. And If you want me to stop hanging out with him I-"

"Promise me something." I interrupted. "Promise me you won't leave me as Elijah did. Don't leave my side." I said sternly, even though I was desperate for him to agree.

It took a few moments before slowly, a bright smile crawled onto the white-haired boy's lips. Marrying his features. "I promise to never leave your side." He then held out his pinkie.

I looked at him dumbfounded at the action but held out my pinkie none the less. "You know this is still childish," I mumble.

He chuckled sheepishly. "True, but you're doing it anyway."

Just as we were about to seal our promise a loud voice interrupted from the halls. "BOYS! COME DOWN HERE!! IT'S TIME FOR DINNER!!" Sherry hissed.

"We're coming!" Lunime shouted back in a panicked manner. "We better get down there before Sherry gets mad."

"Y-yeah, I'll meet you down there," I said, watching as Lunime hurriedly rushed downstairs. Once he was out of view I let out a frustrated growl. "Damn it." I cursed quietly. It wasn't long before my name was being called, along with a death threat if I didn't come down soon. I sighed and made my way towards dinner.

-------

The next day was pretty normal, except for the fact Lunime had gone to hang out with Elijah again. I didn't understand why it bothered me so much. Maybe it was the fact that Elijah betrayed my trust or the fact that Lunime had a closer friend than me. Whatever the reason was I didn't like it.

It was the end of 4th hour so that meant I had lunch next. I had hoped Lunime would wait for me after class, but to my surprise, Elijah had offered to eat lunch with him. Leaving me with a bitter taste in my mouth.

I held on to my bag tightly and headed outside for some fresh air. I went towards the small forest near the school, where I found a tree to sit under.  I quietly sat down and grabbed the small lunchbox I had packed inside my bag. As I took it out I could hear rustling from the bush behind me. I froze as I heard footsteps edge closer towards the tree I sat under. I swiftly shifted to my feet and went to confront the figure. Just as I took a step forward the figure emerged from the bush. I frowned upon the face before me and let out an annoyed sigh.

"Just my luck. What are you doing here? Calla." I said coldly.

Her green eyes met mine and I could sense the same annoyance radiating off her. "Just about to ask you the same question. What are you doing here?" She paused then added, "Where's your wolf friend?"

I let out a low growl, shooting her a glare. "Why the hell would I tell you? I asked you the question first."

She studied me a while before she let out a sigh. She then came closer and sat next to me, ignoring the fact that I didn't want her to. I glared at the girl not trusting what she was doing. It wasn't long before I got ticked off and asked what she was doing.

She sighed in annoyance. "You know I don't plan to bully you anymore, so you can calm down that attitude of yours."

"And why should I trust you?" I hissed.

Her eyes narrowed. "Look, I don't know the reason you came here but whatever it is there's something on your mind. Normally you would be with that white-haired boy but you're not. So why would you come here of all places? We were best friends when we were younger, this is the place you'd go when you wanted to talk. So why are you here now?" She pointed out.

I felt my hands bail into a fist. I hated to admit it but apart of me really does want someone to talk to. But not to her, I didn't like Calla, not because she's a prick, but because she's one of the friends that left. I wouldn't allow myself to speak to her about my problems.

"So what if I'm here? Mind your own business and stay away from-"

"It's about Lunime isn't it?"

My body tensed at the mention of his name. I heard her hum, amused at the reaction I gave her. I growled as I could already see the smug look on her face.

"From what I can tell you don't want to talk about him, and seeing that he's not with you I'd say something happened between you two." She smirked. "There's no point in hiding it Kody, talk."

I sighed. "Why do you care so much anyway?"

"Would you just talk already?" Calla demanded.

I frowned but hesitantly began to speak. "Lately...Lunime's always hanging out with Elijah and doesn't talk to me as must as he used to. I guess apart of me doesn't like the fact that he's hanging around Elijah. The other day I snapped and all I could feel was a pain in my chest. I hate the thought of Lunime having a closer friend than me and I don't want Lunime to leave me either...not like everyone else." I clenched my fist. "So I don't know why I'm talking to you," I added harshly.

Calla became silent, probably thinking about what I've told her. After a long line of silence, Calla finally spoke. "I'd never take you for that type of guy Kody." She said with a small smile on her lips.

I looked at her in confusion. "What do you mean by that?" I asked, not liking the happy smile on her face.

"It seems you have a big case of jealously." She said bluntly.

My eyebrows knitted together. "Jealous?" I asked.

"You like Lunime don't you?" Calla asked.

"What do you mean like?"

Calla let out a frustrated growl then shot me a look. "Why are you so dense!? Do you love Lunime!?" She shouted.

My eyes widened. I felt my face turn red and my heart race at the thought. No, it's not like that, I don't like him...do I?

"N-no! It's not like that!..." I said quickly.

"Really? To me, it seems you really like Lunime. Even if you deny it you should think about it. It's not good to keep it inside." She sighed. "Well, it's time to get to class. See ya." Then without another word she left, leaving me with scrabbled thoughts.
