Kody's Pov
I closed my eyes and rubbed my temples, trying to rid of the headache that pounded in my skull. Lumine stared at me with a concerned expression, probably afraid I'd faint or something. It's been like that for a couple of days. Ever since I blanked out Lumine seemed to be more protective. Though I liked the extra attention, I didn't want to constantly worry him.
I turned to him with a weary glance. "Hey Lumine? You know you don't need to keep following me around right?" I said slowly.
He only shook his head. "What if something happens to you again? I need to be there in case you're going to...freeze up again." Lumine mumbled, playing with the hem of his shirt.
I sighed. "I'm fine, I already said I wouldn't do it again. Stop worrying so much."
He nodded but I could tell he wasn't convinced. I closed my eyes before staring at the sky and took a breath of the warm air. A cool breeze flew past us as a silence hovered over us. I used to enjoy the silence whenever I was around Lumine, however I don't think I'll ever enjoy it again.
I tapped the wood of the porch we sat on uncomfortably. I heard Lumine sigh and watched him stand up.
"I'm going inside, want to come?" He asked softly.
I nodded and silently followed behind him. Once we walked through the front door I noticed my dad sat quietly in the living room. His eyes landed on me.
"Hey boys! How's the weather like out there? I heard it was pretty warm." My father asked casually.
Lumine smiled. "Hi Aiden! It's really nice out today. How's work?"
My father pouted. "I wish I could go out. Sherry keeps yelling at me for 'not being productive' when I've clearly been work hard-"
"What are you doing here anyways?" I cut in, slightly annoyed.
My dad stops speaking and turns to me slowly with a smile. "Ah right, actually I wanted to talk to you Kody. It's...very important."
His sharp green eyes watched me closely. Something inside his gaze made him look intimidating, which was a very rare look he could pull off. I could see Lumine tense slightly and I sent my dad a glare.
"What do you need to talk to me about." I asked cooly.
"Well I'd like to talk to you in private if that's alright with you." He said calmly.
I shot a glance at Lumine to find him staring at me with a concerned expression. Yet despite that, the wolf boy smiles. "Um..I guess I'll go find Silver. See you guys later." Lumine waves before leaving my dad and I alone.
I turned to my dad, finding him beckoning me to sit. Slowly I go over and take a seat across from him.
"So how's school going?" My dad asks.
"What do you want?" I asked instead.
He chuckles. "Want to jump right into it huh? Well you see...I've been told you're acting strangely. Almost like something was controlling you. Funny right?"
My eyes widened slightly. "Did Lumine tell you?" I asked carefully.
"He only told me a few things, he's worried about you, you know?" He pauses. "However he wasn't the only person, but I'd rather not speak about that." My dad explains.
"So what? I'm fine, he doesn't need to worry." I mutter.
"Ah but you do care about him don't you? I think you should tell him before...something happens."
