Riddles is such an odd name for a diner. But it fits for another odd reason.
Draven walked ahead of me and opened the door. "Thanks." I said.
Draven gave me a nod in response. "So you come here often huh?" I asked. Draven placed his hands in his pocket and looked around.
I assumed for a booth.
"Yeah. My mom used to bring me here a lot before she started working. It was our thing."
"Did you bring Riot here?"
Sometimes I wanted to keep my mouth shut, but I didn't.
And I honestly didn't care.
"Nah. Riot wouldn't step foot in this place. Let's go sit in the back."
Draven was calm this time when I mentioned Riot which only made me wonder what their story was.
I followed Draven to a booth in the back by a jukebox.
"Does that thing work?" I asked. Draven laughed. "No, it's been here for years. Would you like a song played though?"
I shook my head. Draven eyed me for a minute then looked behind me.
"Draven is that you?"
I closed my eyes and sighed.
Was there anywhere that a girl didn't know him? Or him not knowing a girl?
"Milan, hey."
I guess the fuck not.
A girl approached us in an apron with her brunette hair pulled back. She had a tattoo that looked like leaves and flower peeping from under her sleeve.
Another tattoo covered her hand but I didn't stare too long to get an idea of what it was.
"Milan this is Azora, Azora this is Milan, my cousin."
Oh.
I finally looked Milan in the face. She had warm brown eyes with a smile to match. Her eyebrows were arched perfectly and a nose ring complimented her nose.
"She's pretty Dra."
"Thanks." Draven and I both said.
Ok... awkward.
Milan looked back and forth between us and smirked. "So what would you guys like to eat?"
I looked at Draven. "I'll take the usual." He said. He looked back at me.
What did I want? I didn't even look at the menu.
Maybe I should've done that instead of obsessing over who knows Draven and who Draven knows.
"I'll have whatever he's having."
Milan wrote something on a notepad and looked up, her hair swinging behind her.
"Drinks?"
"I'll have a coke." Draven said.
"Lemonade." I said.
"You will loooove our lemonade. It's the best."
I gave Milan a smile. "I'll hold you to that."
"I'll be right back guys." She winked at me and walked off.
Back to Draven.
"Milan is nice."
Draven leaned back and stretched his arms out across the booth. "Oh yea? You didn't seem too sure about that at first."
