Cheryl's POV:
Over the next 2 months, I got better on my wheelchair and I didn't need any help getting through doors. I didn't even dare try and stand up again... I knew it was completely hopeless. Even though I couldn't feel my legs, I had managed to learn how to get partly dressed, there's still a few things I need help with though. TT loved helping me, she loved being protective and caring over me. On Friday, I would finally be going home. Everyone was so excited. Betty, Jug and Auntie Alice had all started coming daily along with TT. Everyone else came every other day. It was nice because when they came I could go out of the hospital for 30 minutes as long as someone was with me at all times, so I could get a change of scenery.
"You OK, Cherry?" TT asked, concerned. I smiled at my nickname and nodded.
"Yeah, I'm good. Are you OK?" I asked.
"I guess... Just worried about you." she said with a weak smile.
"I'm fine. I promise, Mon Cheri. You need to take care of yourself. More than me." I said and she frowned, not convinced. I chuckled at TT's frown as Auntie Alice, Betty and Jughead all walked through the door.
"We come bearing food, don't shoot." Jughead said, putting his hands in the air jokingly with a laugh. Us 4 girls giggled as he handed out all of our food. For the next half an hour, the 5 of us ate our food and talked about what would happen when I was discharged from hospital.
" So, if me and Toni come and pick you up while Betty makes sure everything is definitely accessible?" Aunty Alice asked and I nodded.
"Sounds good to me, Aunty Alice." I said and everyone gasped, smiling.
"What? What happened? Why are you all gasping and smiling like that?" I asked confused.
"You just fluently said a full sentence, Cherry." TT said rushing over to hug me as everyone else did the same. I sat, shocked. Once everyone had finished rambling on about how happy they were that I had got my fluent speaking back, we called in a doctor to tell them and find out if that would speed up my discharge date. Doctor Johnson came in and I explained what had happened, still getting used to my fluent speech.
"So, Doctor Johnson, will this help speed up my discharge date?" I asked, curiously.
"Ummm... I myself am not allowed to answer that question, I would have to speak to your main doctor, what is their name?" he asked.
"My main doctor is my physiotherapist Doctor Patel." I said as Doctor Johnson nodded, writing my doctors name down.
"OK... I will be back with your doctor in a minute." he said walking out the door. A few minutes later, Doctor Patel and Doctor Johnson walked in chatting.
"So... Miss Blossom. After reviewing everything and with this exciting news of your fluent speech. We have discussed your discharge date and have both agreed that you can go home tomorrow... So 2 days early. If... And only if, you promise to never a:Try to stand up on your own unsupervised and b: Try to stand up unless it is advised. Is that clear? "Doctor Patel asked.
" Yes, Doctor Patel, I hear you loud and clear." I said happily clapping.
" Well then, I guess you can start packing then. " She said walking out the door with Doctor Johnson. As soon as both doctors were out of ear shot, all 4 of us girls squealed.
"Can you guys start packing my stuff up? So that I can be out of this place soon as possible." I said and the girls nodded.
"What do you want me to do, Cheryl?" Jughead asked with a smile.
"Can you help me into my wheelchair so that we can then go for a walk while Betty, TT and Aunty Alice pack... Is that OK with everyone?" I asked and the 4 of them nodded. Jughead helped me into my wheelchair and wheeled me outside and sat down on a bench so we could talk. About half an hour later, we went back into the hospital and found Aunty Alice, Betty and TT sat waiting for me and Jughead to come back, my bags all packed.
"You're all set, C." Betty said leaning over to hug me and kiss Jug on the cheek.
"Thanks you guys." I said as TT walked over to help me back onto the bed. Once I was back in bed, I checked the time to see that it was 8 o'clock. Everyone sighed.
"Right we best get going, C. We'll be here at 8 on the dot OK?" Aunty Alice said and I nodded as TT got the spare bed ready.
Once Aunty Alice, Betty and Jughead left, TT went and got changed into her pajamas. She wore dark purple satin pajamas with a serpent on the back.
