Chapter 3

The next morning, Ron Weasley gets a Howler.  Apparently he drove a flying car to school instead of going on the train, and he was spotted by 7 Muggles!  Breakfast is porridge, it’s really good.

First up, we have double Charms with the Ravenclaws.  We’re learning how to clean up ectoplasm left by ghosts, and it also scares away Peeves.  The Bloody Baron and the Fat Friar are helping us.  I’m partnered with Terry Boot.  The incantation is Skurge.  I’m okay at Charms, so it takes me a couple of times to get it right.  Terry is excellent at Charms, however, and gives me pointers.  By the end, I’m a natural at it.  Double Charms will help me improve my grade, since Terry is supposed to be my partner all year.

Next, we have Potions.  We have to make the Wiggenweld Potion, which awakens a person from a magically-induced sleep.

“Looks like Snow White could have used this.  But then again, true love’s kiss is the most powerful magic in the world.  Hence, Emma,” I whisper to Draco.  He looks at me like I’m crazy.  “It’s a Muggle TV show.  Don’t ask.” He nods, then goes back to his potion.  I finish making mine by the end of class, we’ll get our grades on them next class.  I pack up my books and am about to leave.

“Miss Fidler, hold on just one moment,” Snape says.  What did I do?  Is my potion bad?

“Yes, Professor?” I say.

“Remember, you will be tutoring Mr. Finnigan tomorrow after lunch.  I expect the same results from him as your Wiggenweld Potion was today.  Sadly, that means to say he needs a drastic improvement.”  YES!  GOOD POTION!

“Okay, sir.  Thank you,” I say.

“That is all.  Good bye.”

“Bye.”  The lunch bell rang.  I hurry to the Great Hall.  Before I sit down, I go over to the Gryffindor table.  Looking up and down, I see Seamus sitting with Neville, Dean, Harry, and Ron.  “Seamus!”  I call.  He looks up.

“Oh, hey Ashlyn.  What’s up?” he says.

“Professor Snape says I will start your tutoring sessions tomorrow after lunch,” I say.

“Okay.  See you later,” he says.

“Bye.”  As I walk away, I see Seamus shoving Dean, who was laughing his head off.  WHY YOU BE ACTING SO WEIRD DEAN?

After lunch, we have History of Magic.  Great.  I almost fall asleep, but I end up taking a couple of notes about the Medieval Assembly of European Wizards.  You know, whatever that is.  It is here we get our first homework assignment of the year.  A three-foot-long essay about it.  I’m glad I took notes.

A/N: I want to apologize for this chapter.  It sucks.  I wrote this fanfction last year, and to this day I don't understand why everything I wrote back then was terrible.  I hope my writing skills have gotten better by now, otherwise if you're reading this fanfiction series, you'll hate it.
