The kitchen is filled with the smell of bacon aka heaven and eggs. Jane is cooking with her pregnant belly poking out. She smiles at me, and sets a plate of food in front of me. I dig in, enjoying everything about the freshly cook meal.
"I have to go a ultrasound today when you get out of school. Is there any way you can catch a ride?"
"Uh, I don't know. I'll see." I reply, she nods in a response. Getting up, I rinse off my plate and grab my bookbag. Jane grabs her keys and we're off to my high school.

The school parking lot is packed today or like every other day. There cliques groups are scattered all around. Populars at the benches far away from the entrance, Nerds are going inside, and Norms like me just everywhere. Ali, my amazing best friend, sprints over to me, embracing me into a hug. She was gone for two weeks on a family trip to France.
"I miss you so much, Hazel." Ali shouts.
"Same here, how was the trip?"
"Great! I met this guy his name is Alaire, it means happy."
"Wow, maybe your type of men are from France." I joke, nudging her in the shoulder. We laugh together before we go to our first block class, World Language.
Mrs. Crumbler stares at us with a grim look in her eyes. Someone had thrown a soggy and slimy spitball at the back of her head. Her beady eyes glance at me, before looking at Ali. The tension in the air is thick, I cringe at the sight of her bending over to stare at the kid that sit next me. Crumbler walks back to her desk, still glaring at all of us.
"Since I can't figured out who did this? Everybody must write a 2,000 word essay about why kids are so disrespectful." She laughs when everybody complains about the new set of homework. I groan silently and think about many ways to prank her or at least make her miserably like she's making us right now.
The bell rings and we leave the hell class. Next I have Gym separate from Ali, she has Math. The locker room smells just like must and nastiness. Who knew girls could smell so nasty? Haley Harvey, the queen bee of the school, walks in with her small posse of friends. She ignores everybody and goes to her locker, which happens to be right next to mine. A wave of fruity perfume hits my nose, it's overwhelming how much she put on. I change into the P.E. uniform that consists of navy blue shorts and a white shirt with the school logo on it.
Haley talks about Calum Tokes, my ultimate crush and her official boyfriend. Apparently Calum is suppose to take her somewhere special so they can have a wild night. Just imagining the two naked and in the same bed is sickening to me. I slam my locker door shut and exit the locker room. I head over to my two friends in this class, Wyatt and Claire, who are talking to one another.
"Hey guys." I greet smiling at them both. We start talking about random things before Coach Pa calls us over to explain what we're doing today. First we have to run around the track two times before we play a game of Dodgeball. Both are my worst nightmare. Claire complains about her hair getting puffy because of the humidity outside, Wyatt and I laugh with no concern whatsoever.
Coach blows the whistle to signal us to go forward, the athletics of the school take off like it's the Olympics while I'm going the pace of a snail. Claire is an cheerleader, which doesn't fit our social class, but she's manages it. She runs slightly slower than the dashers.
10 minutes later, I'm ready to pass out. How in the world will I'll be able to play dodgeball? The two captains are two sport heads, I'm chosen to be on James Roger's team which is okay because he is a nice sport while Leon Fox is sour one. Haley is on Leon's team, I want to hit her because I'm jealous she has Calum, but she has bodyguards. Ugh, this girl. The game starts and seconds later I'm already hit, but I'm disappointed I'm rather happy I don't have to play anymore.
The game is down to two people, Haley and James. We all know that James can take her down in just one throw. But if he does he's going to have an angry Haley on his hands, but if he doesn't he's going to have a hella mad team. Luckily he takes one for the team and hits Haley right in the stomach. She falls on the floor in pain, I mentally laugh at her.
--
Lunch time is finally here. Ali catches up with me, Wyatt and Claire. I sit down because I have a packed lunch while the rest of them go buy lunch. Opening my lunch I see that Jane packed me a grilled cheese sandwich, Pringles, and some Sweet Iced Tea.
"I heard James Rogers hit Haley with a dodgeball." Ali comments.
"He did. I bet she's pissed." Wyatt says, glancing at her. Haley is talking to Calum with a smile, but however Calum has grim look upon his face. I pay attention to conversation of the group as they talk about something about the new trip for History class. The conversation ends when Calum shouts, "I'm so done with you, acting like you own me." He storms out of cafeteria, leaving a crying Haley, surprise students, and one happy Hazel.
