In the beginning, there was a wonderful light. Then he appeared. Eiji. He was standing at the end of the illuminated corridor. He was in the middle. He paved the way like a railway barrier. Ash walked towards him. When he caught up with him, stretched out his hand, trying to push him away.

"Let me through," he asked.

However, this adamantly stood still, shaking the dark head. Ash didn't want to use force against him. He let go and looked into his face. It was bright and cheerful.

"Don't you think it's time to wake up, Ash? They were supposed to be only two hours."

Eighteen-year-old lowered his head as if reprimanding an elder. He didn't want to go any further.

"Ash, wake up! Ash!"

"Wake up! God, how much blood!"

Ash slowly opened his eyes. Confused, he looked around without knowing where he was. Books. A lot of books. Lamp. Desk. Letter. He carefully registered every item. And then he remembered - Eiji.

"Please don't move," a woman's voice hung above him. "I will call an ambulance in a moment. Sir? Yes! Can you stay with him? Thank you very much, I will be back soon!"

Ash wasn't sure what was going on. Ambulance? Did someone get hurt? He didn't see anyone who might need it. He shook his head. No. It didn't matter. Eiji. He was here a moment ago.

"Eiji," this time he said aloud. "Where did Eiji go? Where am I?"

"National Library. Calm down, help will come soon," said the man.

"Where is Eiji?" Ash repeated the question, and in his eyes appeared menacing glint.

"What Eiji? I don't know anyone like that."

Ash tried to get up, but the pain forced him to fall to the table again. He took a numb hand from the side. It was all in blood.

"Damn it is worse than I thought. What did I imagine staying in this library? But I suddenly felt like sleeping ... Fool! And so little was missing if not for..."

Suddenly Ash remembered everything. Japanese was not here. Probably already flew to Japan. The letter underneath was completely creased and bloodied. Just like his heart. - "My soul will always be with you." He felt bitterness in his mouth. It was too late. And he didn't even manage to say goodbye. He was the worst. He felt growing excitement.

"Planes often delay. Maybe it happened this time."

The boy got to his feet, picking up a crumpled letter from the table.

"What are you doing, sir? The ambulance will be here soon. Please," the man grabbed his arm forcing him to return to his place. Instinctively, Ash twisted his arm away and pushed him away.

"Leave me!" he shouted, surprised by the tone of his voice.

He whispered an apology and shuffled out of the building. He passed a woman who was still trying to call an ambulance. It was snowing outside, which only poured additional layers of hope into a shaky young heart. The sun has already hidden behind the buildings, which caused the temperature to drop significantly. Squeezing the wound, he walked along the white pavement, releasing puffs of hot air. He didn't know what to do next with his life. Everyone he was about to kill - was dead. Eiji was safe. Although they came from different worlds, he couldn't forgive himself for letting him just leave. Was it important where they came from? Life is too fragile. He managed to convince himself of this himself. All his life, he had to fight for survival and protect the people he cared about. He couldn't understand that it was over.

"I want to sleep so badly."

Ash narrowed his eyes. He stood on the sidewalk. He didn't know where he was going. And what is all this for. The flight ticket weighted in his pocket. He won't make it. Hope left him unexpectedly. He was mad at himself.

"I'm so cold."

He wrapped his coat more tightly, but the chill persisted. He leaned against the wall of the nearest building, staining it. He felt his eyelids become heavy and fall asleep.

"Eiji is safe."

With this thought, he began to slide into the dark.
