"Where are you going?" Neil asked Avni the next morning when he came out of the shower and saw that she was putting on her lipstick. She looked. Different.
Wearing a white shirt with blue jeans, she then tied her hair into a tight ponytail and scanned herself one last time in the mirror.

"Taking a trip to hell. Wanna join charyo?" She asked, faking a smile. Of course, she didn't wait for a reply, she took out her backpack and slid it through her arms onto her shoulders. Turning on her heels, she tried to make her way out the room but found herself instead trapped between the cupboard and. Neil.

"I'm serious. Where are you going?" Neil's voice was really hoarse this time, he was holding her firmly at her waist. "You don't have to know." Avni hissed, trying to push him, just like last night but this time Neil held his ground and held her more firmly.

"Oh I surely do. Or you're not going." Neil kept his options straight forward. He hated this behaviour of himself as much as Avni did but he had to do it. The world was still not safe enough for her.

Another failed attempt and she found Neil closer to her, he slipped his hands beneath her shirt and was touching her skin now . "Fine. I rejoined my...journalism company."
"That's great. And it also explains your use of legal language last night." Neil laughed it off.

"I don't cover political and legal aspects Mr. Khanna. I talked that way because those were the points written in my divorce petition." He didn't know what shocked him more. Her calling him Mr. Khanna or the divorce petition. But he also admitted that listening to Mr. Khanna was never so tempting.

"I would love to accompany you on your first day." Neil hissed, taking in all of her innocence, she was radiating due to their proximity. Neil smiled; she was very much affected by them. He would have kissed her cheeks in a few seconds but Karina entered the room.

"I SWEAR I SAW NOTHING!" Karina yelled and closed her eyes. Avni became conscious of her surroundings and pushed Neil away. As Karina went, Neil spoke "Come for breakfast, I'll drop you to your office later." He cleared his throat. "I don't want to eat. I'll go by myself. " She spoke, struggling to tuck in her shirt again.

"Okay fine stubborn lady but what will you say to Bebe? She must be there at the table. " Neil tied his watch to his wrist.

"I'll not make my exit through the normal route. Cause then I'd have to speak to Bebe. And as much she deserves it, I can't be disrespectful. My very humble mother told me to respect elders. Except Dayawanti Mehta. I've known many exits in this mansion. I'll make my way out and in without anyone noticing." She spoke and finally went.

"I've got amendments to make...She really is hurt." Neil mumbled and went to the table. "Avni?" Bebe asked. "She went to her workstation." Neil said, putting a bite of the parathas in his mouth. "Oh. Neil, in the light of recent happenings, I thought both of you need to spend some time together, alone. So I booked these tickets for you. Ooty." She spoke, smiling. Neil was sure she deeply regretted her behaviour towards Avni.

"Honestly Bebe, the recent conversation we had was related to our divorce. She's adamant to split ourselves. I...need to change her mind now. We'll look at taking our relationship forward sometime later."
Neil opened up, irritated by his family. Prakash, Bebe and Shweta gasped and flinched on hearing divorce.

"To samjha use!" Shweta pointed the obvious. "I tried. I am trying! But she's very hurt and doesn't want to talk to me mom!" Saying this,he slammed his hand on the table and left for the police station.

"Oh so that means they were not romancing but tryingto talk." Karina was disappointed.

"Sir, method number 121. Try gifting her something likes!" DD exclaimed, coming up with another idea for Neil. "At this time, the best gift will be a signature on the divorce paper DD! Something else." Neil rejected the 121st idea.

"Idea 122. Husbands who resort to pick up working wives from their workplaces tend to stay happier." DD blinked his eyes and drank a glass of water.

"Will this work?" Neil asked, slightly unsure about the kind of ideas he was presenting. Nonetheless he had to keep trying. All right then.

......
"Will you stop flirting Dev?" Avni asked his colleague who was coming right behind her till the exit of the building . "You married early. Could have asked me." Dev let out an audible sigh. "You know. I'm about to get divorced. Hit on me later."

"Hi Avni. Hi...ughh...who ever you are." Neil slid his arm around Avni and smiled at both of them. "Divorce eh? Seedha hee mana kar deti." Dev whispered and left. "Stop. Exercising. Rights. On. Me." Avni gritted her teeth.

"I haven't yet honey." Neil winked at her and dragged her to the car, locking her in.

"Neil I don't like this."
"You are leaving me with no options Avni. We need to work us out."
