Silverfoot sat down on one of the cliffs and looked out into the water. Sunrise was sitting beside him. The loner had told him that StarClan had told him about the grave dangers the Clans were about to face.  Sunshine and Meadow were talking to the other cats. The Clan cats looked at one another with shocked expressions.

"They must have gotten the news", Silverfoot guessed.

Sunrise looked over at Silverfoot with wide amber eyes.  "The Clans must be warned or darkness will swallow the light."

"I'm afraid for my mate and my Clan", Silverfoot meowed.

"It's natural to be afraid for your family and friends", Sunrise meowed.

"You four need to rest then go back", Sunshine meowed.

"But our Clans could be dying if we don't get to them in time!", Dreamspirit yowled.

"Don't worry", Timber meowed and he placed his tail across the black-and-white she-cat's back.

Silverfoot leaped down from the mound of sand with Sunrise following him.

"I'll show you four the best place to hunt", the pale yellow tom meowed.   "You two can go. I got this", he told Meadow and Sunshine.

"Okay", Meadow meowed.  "You heard him. Let's go", she nudged the yellow tabby she-cat beside her and they took off.

Sunrise watched them leave and led the cats away with a flick of his tail. The six cats were back in the lush forest.

"Rest and eat", he meowed.  "Leave tomorrow.  I must tend to my family."

The pale tom waved his tail in goodbye and raced off.

"Right. You heard him. Let's eat", Silverfoot meowed.

Once the six cats ate, Timber spoke up.

"I'll go with you four until we reach the end of this forest. I have to go back to my home as well", he meowed.

"It was so wonderful to travel with you", Dreamspirit meowed.

"Yeah, we would have been lost without you",  Turtlestep meowed.

When the sun began to set, the cats laid down to sleep while Applepaw took first watch.  Silverfoot dreamed of claws lashing and ripping through the Clans.  Cats raced away with wide scared eyes. Blood flew and pooled around Silverfoot's paws. Three limp kits laid in front of him.  He gasped as he recognized his kits. He sat up, gasping with shock.  Timber was in front of him with concern in his amber eyes.

"It's your turn to watch", Timber meowed.  "Are you okay?"

Silverfoot let his fur lay flat and nodded.  "Just a bad dream."

As the silver tom stood guard, he thought of his dream. The sun soon began to climb into the sky.  A paw prodded his side and he saw that Dreamspirit was waiting for him.

"It's time to go", she meowed.

The cats stretched and prepared for the return home.  Once the leftovers from last night were ate, they left.

We're coming home  Silverfoot sighed to the sky.
