Annae
When did my Grandmia become so mean, so callous, she never used to be and it hurt me really bad. She didn't need to mention my father or speak as if she hated him so bad. Well I know she does, because you know he left me and all. Well he left me and mum, I was only little and don't remember any of it.
Grandmia accepted my mums apology when he did leave, because she like rebelled against my Grandmia and married him. Grandmia hated him for the simple reason that he was German and didn't have a lot of money. She hated the fact that my mum would choose a commoner over her own mother that really pissed Grandmia off.
Oh sorry, need to introduce myself properly. I'm Annae Lakosh Dalkov, freaky name I know; I am fifteen years old and have never had a boyfriend. No first kiss and I am still a virgin (thank God). I am a devoted Christian and hate girly girl things. Like pink, dresses and dancing! When I and Jen were young Grandmia paid a ballet dancer to teach us to dance, now we know how to dance 100 different ways. My Grandmia wants me to marry Jack Nerdam *Cough* I mean Nervam, this marriage was arranged when I was 5 years old and he was 6. Now I can't say that marrying Jack would tear me apart, because I actually don't care much. I just hate the fact that my freedom has been taken from me and I can't choose who I want to marry, myself. Jack is actually quite handsome, hes also very friendly and smart. But he and I have always had a love/hate relationship, which means he loves me and I hate him (JOKING!). We have always hated each other, yeah hes nice (after the age of 10) and all, but he was the one who used to put ants in my bed and frogspawn in my sandwiches for school.
I look at the front of my house and see my mum looking out the window, making sure I get to the bus stop safely. When she retreats from the window I sigh and start walking towards the alley leading to the bus stop, rolling up my skirt as I walk. Mum didn't care much about this marriage business, I think it's because she's scared of her own mother. Tragic.
I walk to the end of the alley and look both ways at the road, don't want to die. Seeing its clear both ways, I speed walk across it. I loved my bus journeys; they are always filled with laughter and happiness! (What is this? A romantic novel? I suppose you expect this to end with me loving Jack and us getting married having lickle Jack and Hannah jrs, well bad luck. If I had a choice between marrying Jack and being shifted to the Nunnery then I would become a nun.)
I stop at the bus stop and drop my bag, it lands at my feet with a loud smack and I draw in a sharp breath. JERRY! Well, Jerry Junior or JJ or Jels. This is my kindle touches name; I name every inanimate object I own. My school laptop is Matilda and my home laptop is Laura. Jerry my first kindle, died because a teacher stepped on him during end of year exams in year 8. I mourned him, for about 4 hours, when I got home Jerry Junior was waiting on the side. The pleasures of having a rich family, hmmm?
Sometimes being rich is not all that good, yeah you won't go to poverty as quickly and you can have about anything you desire, but it has its disadvantages. Some people only want to be my friend because they get cool Christmas presents-so they think-and food. Sad life really.
Anyway, I open my bag and check of JJ which is alive and well. Hugging him close I breathe a sigh of relief. Footsteps behind make me turn around and look at an approaching figure. Eva! I put JJ back and turn to greet my friend. I've always been envious of Eva, she's pretty, skinny and curvy-not that I look, I don't it's just a known fact. All the boys check her out, its nauseating to watch them drool-all the things I'm not. Her blonde hair is kinda wavy, but it doesn't seem to frizz at all.
"Hi," she says cheerfully.
"Hi," I reply, the good thing about Eva is she doesn't push for conversation. We fit into a comfortable silence, only interrupted by some year 8's from our school.
"Please be a double decker," Eva whispers.
I look over at her and smile. "You're going to jinks it."
"What? No I wont, I will only jinks it if I say 'It's going to be a double decker.'" She looks at me and rolls her eyes.
The sound of tires against gravel hits my ears and turn around to look at the road. Double. I laugh lightly and look back at Eva. "Okay, your plea has been answered."
The bus stops in front of us and as usual the older years from MGGS push in front and get on first. They annoy me so much! I get on before Eva, so I can get the best seat and sit down; Eva walks up shortly after and sits next to me.
I put on my iPod and turn on Linkin Park, yay! Waiting for the bus to get from Snodland to Tesco in Larkfield. We have to get the Maidstone from Snodland to Tesco and then get our school bus from there to well school.
The bus stops at the pub and Kelsey gets on, Kelsey's full name is Kelsey Elfie Harry Parker Pen Potter. She is obsessed with Harry Potter, you ask her any question about it and she will know, she has blonde hair as well. We think she was anorexic at one point because she's so skinny, but she eats a lot of junk food. Always has a chocolate or biscuit in her bag, we don't know where it goes but it's not to her stomach. She also has dark circles under her eyes, even she doesn't know how they got there.
We greet her and then the bus starts its way towards Larkfield, that's where Charley and Ridha get on. My granddad used to call us 'The Gang' because we always used to stand together at the bus stop. He isn't around anymore, that's probably why Grandmia has become so, well, cold and evil. She blames me for my mother marrying a German, I WASN'T EVEN ALIVE! She says I act too much like him, just because I have a twinge of a German accent. Is it too much to ask for her to love me just a little? Damn that rich Russian B-word. Not allowed to swear, well not in front of adults.
